Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
First (and second) swim in the sea today, glorious! All I have to do is walk out of the apartment, down the ramp and into the water. The tide is in and the ramp is very steep. I had to exit the sea on my bum!! I hope I don't wear out the seat of my cossie! I!m sitting on the balcony above the beach now with a cuppa. Temp here 20deg, suits me, don't like it too hot. Xxxxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Fab pics. seaspirit44 ... could you get any closer to the sea.. great position to be in and easy to get in for a swim ... be careful though getting out.
.... love the hedge ... hope you are managing to get out and about ok.
Been to an Armed Forces Day at the seaside ... managed a good walk, kept in the shade as much as possible as it’s hot hot hot today...had the factor 50 on. The beach was crowded ... typical seaside picture although I actually didn’t take any

Thanks I was surprised the next morning when my legs still worked! I was a bit knocked back by the heat but am so glad I did it. Nothing would please me more than to hear that this site was closing due to lack of use!!
Angela
Walked today ... 4 miles but was cream crackered afterwards .... crashed out, slept and felt much better on waking.... more my usual self.

Still swimming, colder today, but don't mind that, glorious to be in the sea again. The only problem is getting in and out due to masses of slippery seaweed and a steep ramp. DH was off in a coastal walk yesterday, but people in the cafe came to my aid to get me out, and again this morning. Strangers are usually very kind. Xxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Take care, Seaspirit, that ramp sounds hazardous!
