Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
Hi Violetsniff,
the other pharmacies locally are even worse and I don’t want to go out of town to the next (big) town. Could get there free using my bus pass of course but that’s time consuming too.
I just hope these are temporary staff to cover holidays!

I spent a lovely time with my great nephew and niece yesterday and they had me outside pushing them on the swing and playing hide-and -seek and I tried to teach them some sewing....(hit-and-miss!)but my nephew did this whip-stitching while I was busy ...so pleased!!Then I walked all the way back home at the end....phew!!x
Is this available in your area? I had a letter in the post yesterday: pharmacy2u
Your doctors have to be using them - it listed on my letter the surgeries in my town who'd signed up for it and mine is one of them. I'll possibly do it as my pharmacy is useless! I was even told by the chap taking the prescription slip when it got lost "you obviously didn't bring it in" - he'd accepted it and even had a long chat with me about something or other! Once it was confirmed it was lost, luckily I had gone in before my doctors appointment, I went back with a new slip and didn't get a single apology for having lost the last one....
Despite quite often being organised and giving them 2 days to get my order ready, invariably I have to wait 10 - 15 minutes whilst I'm at the back of the queue for them to be made up on the day I return. The only problem is that they use Royal Mail, so if you're out when they try and deliver you'll have to collect it from the main office unless you have the same postie who's happy to leave it in a 'safe place'.
Hi Lesley,
we’ve thought about this but there are some meds for both of us that need to be refrigerated and so it wouldn’t be appropriate as there may be times we’d be out. I was hoping our surgery would gain their own pharmacy but unfortunately not.
So its stick with Boots I guess.....at least part of the week we have good staff who know what they are up to!

My GP surgery has a warning notice up about pharmacy2u. They are purely an internet drugs supplier, you can have no contact with them face to face, and they have absolutely no connection to the NHS at all.
Some of the large pharmacy chains do have a prescription collection and home delivery service. I think Lloyds is one of them.

More information about the issues with pharmacy2u in this article and and also here . Plus, they have been fined for selling patient data.
And here is another interesting article.
Just be very careful with this one. I'm sure they do offer a very useful service, but it is unlikely they have been specifically approved by GP surgeries. They are simply an online pharmacy.

Interesting.....
plus with my local Boots I can insist on having the Accord brand of Letrozole.
