So in 5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.
Hi Bigguy
Hope you managed some sleep in the end. I guess it stands to reason the amount of drugs put into your body in those few hours yesterday is going to make you feel rough initially. Make sure if the side effects are too bad you ask for different drugs to combat them. I never take tablets if can help it but I guess cancer will change that none of us need to suffer if there's something which will help. Glad you got on with the cold cap I think I would definitely try it...I guess for those of us with children/grandchildren if we can avoid hair loss it is one less thing for them to have to cope with but I know it's a very personal choice.
Yes Libby excited if somewhat jaded (long term and they work them very hard in primary school these days). I didn't sleep too badly but been awake since 6. Hubby and Lib still fast on (proves the point re Libby she rarely sleeps past 7!). If I get back off now she'll wake up....might have to be a nana nap this afternoon for me!
Hope Alison is ok...didnt see any posts from her yesterday.
Rest up today and try and find a nice film or book to take your mind off feeling rough.
xx
Aha lovely people
As Bigguy has mentioned no notifications but you were all out there doing your supportive thing. As I’m writing this I’m hoping that you Bigguy have found the path to dreamland if for just a while. As Jammy said a body full of meds can’t be condusive to a restful night. If said hubby has still commandeered the settee I suggest he is tipped off and you replace him
Ah hubbies / partners who help. Yes mine cooks lovely meals and I clean up the bomb site. The every pan pot knife spoon fork etc etc style of cooking. He helped hold a parcel whilst I put sellotape on it the other day! Too much I said let’s get a family portrait done of that scene. And yesterday he drove me to Tesco. He had a trolley and so did I . Mine had the essentials in - loo roll, bread, milk veg. His had the Christmas booze - weird beers, vodka and wine. Only the latter was of use . I waited 15 mins for him to finish his challenging shop. I smiled sweetly. I did really. No tutting.
Excitement regarding Christmas is in spade loads at my daughter's. I’ve now been called each day by Zippy - the grandson - to tell me how many sleeps until Santa and how many until he sees me. He’s just got into the how many sleeps and has a little wall display his mommies have made him. So I guess for Libby you can times that by 100. We have a crib service at our local church to. I might just wander down the road to it.
Bigguy I hope by 25th you are feeling well enough to raise a glass and enjoy the day.
Jammy I think the doom and gloom friend needs to be put on hold at the moment. Surround yourself with ‘radiators’ not ‘drains’ .
Jacks , Jolly, Aliblue and everyone who finds themselves here ; have a good day and be like a glow worm. See previous post
Take care

Life is like a boxing match, defeat is declared not when you fall ..... But when you refuse to stand up again ....... So, I get knocked down but I get up again. x
Lol!! Sounds like your food shop is as eventful as ours Leolady!! I’ve only food shopped with Paul once or twice in the last few years - blood was nearly spilt on both occassions!!! Online food shopping or Lidl is the way forward here!!
Jammy - hope you manage a nap later, I love napping. I think it’s shift work that does it but I’ve always been partial to a few sneaky zzzzz even before I worked shifts.
Only managed a bit of sleep after posting earlier then hubsters alarm went off do now wide awake....he did make my breakfast though!! I was going to have a bit more sleep but I think I’ll have a shower etc & find some comfy clothes to wear. Not jamas coz I’m NOT GIVING INTO IT!!!!!!
Hope you all have a good day xxxx
Oh don't even get me started on DH and the food shop, put it this way I now know why it's been taking him 2 hours to do it whilst I've been out of action, whereas I'm done around the hour mark
Have a good day everyone, will pop in later on when have more time, kids have tennis this morning and got 'housey' stuff to do after that.

Thanks Jolly! Hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas too.
Leo- the paragraph about your hubby you wrote this morning was uncanny. Are we married to the same man? Honestly the wrapping thing drives me crackers..even though I know he pretends to be incompetent so I'll get cross and tell him to naff off I fall into same trap every year! Glad you've had few tipples at neighbours, promise we WON'T TALK TOO LOUD in the morning!!
Bigguy and Ali hope you are both feeling ok and chemo side effects being kind to you. You both deserve a lovely few days and I really hope that's what you get.
Mr Sox - hey so glad to hear from you and glad you popped by. Sounds like you are doing well but do take care and let lummox take the strain as you've had a big op.
Jackie - are you all set and trimmed up now after your holiday?
We avoided shops etc today and went for lovely walk/bike ride this afternoon. Fresh air and exercise was just what I needed. Did the mandatory trip to parents (only 10 mins away) this evening to.see my brother who has descended from Mount Olympus on High (Glasgow) for his annual visit. Anyway even he is being less annoying than normal so was a nice hour or 2 and Libby super excited now! In-laws arrive tomorrow which will be nice, they usually stay 4 days or so but leaving boxing day this year due to the little matter or my date with the surgeon on Wednesday...
Take Care ladies xx
