So in   5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.

Why in the last few days have I become incredibly tired and emotional ??
Did anyone else feel the same?
  • JammyR - Hiya! I don' t know what's happening with my messages at the min I don't think they must be tagging correctly but I have messaged you on here a bit further down! I' fine now hun and seems that you are ok se wise too which is such a relief eh! We have just arrived home from another countryside walk with the twins dh and dog and we are going to have a little bbq in the garden to make the most of the sunshine this afternoon! I can't taste much still but il take these side effects over pain any day oh and achy fingernails and I look like a weird alien with no eyelashes but other than that the fatigue has lifted too which is good as that has been quite bad this time! I do hope you are having a lovely catch up with your friend and enjoying the weather too, we are getting there now Joanne the end of the chemo tunnel is in sight! Sunny hugs to you! Deb xxx

  • Hi all,

Sorry I've been a bit AWOL.  Am now on day 18 after my final chemo.  I've had a couple of weeks again of pretty yucky SE - mouth, throat and tummy troubles mainly.  That has settled down thankfully as it really affects my appetite and eating is a struggle.  My taste is still off too.  Now left with watery eyes, dry mouth, dry skin and terrible fatigue still.  I'm knackered peeling a potato!

I am trying to get out for little walks though as I need to build up my muscles after a couple of weeks of hibernating.  A friend from work visited the other day and that cheered me up.  I also had an Indian Head Massage yesterday which was lovely and relaxing as I've felt so tense and hunched.  And I received a lovely bouquet of flowers in the post this morning from my work colleagues.

I am meeting up with my main gang of girlfriends tomorrow, most of whom I haven't seen since I started my chemo in December.  I'm a bit nervous as I feel so different - as Deb says, like an alien with no eyelashes and a few new wrinkles with my dry skin.  But...I did  have the nerve to go into a local café yesterday morning with my dog after the school drop off WITHOUT MY WIG!  I've never gone out in public without it before.  There were 3 school mums there but one of them knows about my diagnosis anyway.  I felt very brave.

I have been very teary and struggling with my emotions but have an appointment booked this week with one of the MacMillan counsellors.  Hope everyone else is coping well and that the SE and other gubbins are staying away.

    Linda xx

Snap  I was at A&E too yesterday until 10:00pm they kept me away from main crowd as GP wrote a note saying isolation required due to chemo.

I had IV Antibiotic then injection in stomach as medics think it could be DVT another possible SE of chemo. Let out and got bus home.

  • Anyone needing A&E while having chemo should be seated in a separate area from the sniffling and coughing  ‘joe public’ as catching an extra bug is not a good idea.

I insisted on this with daughter who still has a very very low immune system following her donor SCT.

    Hugs xxx

@leolady56 - hope you’re feeling a little better this evening after some rest to get over last night’s A&E shananigans!!

@JammyR - Hope PIL have left the building or are due to depart soon!!

@Aspen - So pleased you’re being able to go out and about a bit even though you feel rubbish.

Nothing to report here. T seems to have hit a bit harder this time, rude I reckon on the last go!! Cried a lot today as feel so fed up, then feel guilty for being negative when I’ve finished my chemo and others are only just starting. Managed to sit in the garden this aft to air my head a bit.

    Hi everyone

Well we are at our caravan in Clacton and weather is lovely.  SEAFRONT last T are nearly gone but bit concerned as feet are a bit tingly and numb ish and so are fingers.

Had a fantastic afternoon with friends just sitting on the  verandah, have not laughed so much in a long time, made me think as I used to such all the time and now it's just sadness.  So smack on the hand and good telling off to myself to not let this poo make me something I am not.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend,   Hope your reactions have subsided and your temperature is normal and you are at home with Mr Leo.

,  ,  ,  ,  and anyone else I have forgotten with my chemo brain I hope you have all had a SE free and Poo free weekend.

    Stay strong lovelys
