So in  5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.
It's the Docetaxel T chemo, I had the first one a couple of weeks ago and a couple of days in I had white slimy mouth which I was told is oral thrush! I had metal mouth taste with the EC part but this Docetaxel has been worse for the manky mouth unfortunately along with sore nose and eyes! It's no fun at all is it, I bleeping hope this isn't the norm Annie, I'm not aware of the lovely effects of paclitaxel but they all seem to be pants lol, but worth it in the long run when we have rid ourselves of this bc xx
So glad you started it Lindsay.... you did something very clever and special without even knowing it!
The 'whatever you are gargling' made me smile.... I think we are probably keeping the pharmaceutical industry and Amazon Prime very healthy between us. Looked at my Amazon order history yesterday.... hand gel, wheat bags, thermometer caps....boring boring so to balance it out ordered couple of board games for me and Lib to play these school hols!
Well hope the weather has picked up wherever you all are. I shall be good and rest today whilst hubby and little one have trip out. Hate missing out but gotta be sensible and give myself best chance of getting through the poo infection free.
Does anybody have appointments/CT/RT this week?

Yes, it’s the docetaxel that’s caused the thrush for me, Annie. It does get better between cycles so I’m also praying it’s not the new norm!Â
Lovely idea about the board games, Joanne. Definitely board game weather here. I think we’ve got the snow/rain front that England had yesterday. We took Jamie to see Peter Rabbit yesterday. He really wanted to see it even though he’s 12 but when we came out he did think he’d been the oldest kid there. We all enjoyed it anyway.Â
I’ve got my last chemo tomorrow! All being well with bloods today, fingers crossed as I’ve had a bit of a cold.  Then a mammogram and US on Thursday. Appt with surgeon the week after so hopefully I’ll get my surgery date then. Finally feels like I’m getting there.Â

Aspen - Wow!!! Last T!! Hope it’s much kinder to you this time. It’s a head melt knowing it’s the last one but also knowing the s/e won’t be any easier. I‘m not far behind you, I’ll be with you this week when you ring that bell (if your unit has one, I spotted ours last week) Do you know when your surgery’s likely to be?? I’ve been given mid May as a provisional, sooner than I thought to be honest as was told op 6-8 weeks after chemo. Is this your first op or did you have one before chemo??
JammyR Holidays are definately board game days!! Have you got any of the Logo games?? They’re fab as suit all ages and don’t take too long to complete. DH and Libby will have a lovely day and will have loads to tell you when they get home later. Our youngest is on a day out with his youth club on the tram. They’re stopping at each stop on the network (51 stops), taking a selfie and getting back on!! He’s looking forward to it....not so sure I would!! Lol!!
- You still galloping in the countryside making music wherever you go??
Have a good day all xxx
- This is my first surgery. Seem to give chemo first with my type of BC. IvyT and I meet up - she has a similar diagnosis and is about 6 weeks ahead of me in treatment. Her surgery was 4 weeks after the last chemo so they seem to be quite quick here. I'm guessing that's what will be discussed at my onco appt on the 11th. So perhaps early May although we might be on a similar timeline. All the best for your last round too. I don't think our unit has a bell as a lady next to me last time that I was chatting with finished and there wasn't much fanfare. So me and OH gave her lots of congratulations. Taking my sister again this time (better chat!).

Leolady - I am up for gargling pretty much anything if it takes my manky mouth away so any other suggestions are welcome haha! Iv'e heard gargling gallops are good too :-)
JammyR - Good idea 're the board games I think I may get onto Amazon my fave online store since bc and order a couple to get my 2 off the Xbox Minecraft which they seem to be obsessed with at the min! No appts for me this week apart from getting manky mouth sorted, I'm relaxing like you before the next terrible T! X
Bigguy/Aspen - wow you both are nearly at the end of the chemo train, last one for you both although I'm sure you are both not looking forward to another dreaded dose, it's your last! I hope it really is gentle on you both, il keep everything crossed! Bigguy think il look at Logo for my 2 x
Hope everyone else manages to keep se at bay this week, big love to you all Deb x
Aspen I’ll be following in your footsteps then. I’m sure IvyT will be a good scource of info as she’s ahead of you. I’ll be having node clearance.
No bell???? What???? Too bad :-(((( I usually go with a friend - agree with you that the chat’s better!! lol!! I had a 2+ hour delay last time and we still found lots to talk about!!
Hope you’re having a good day ahead of tomorrow xx
Hi everyone
Just been for my routine eye appointment at the hospital as I have glaucoma. Shocked and stunned when he asked who my oncologist is and when am I seeing him next as be sees something not in keeping with glaucoma, he has booked me a urgent MRI brain scan and wants the oncologist to get the results and see me sooner. He said please try not to worry. Well that's not going to happen is it. Had a melt down on way home in the car, have decided not to mention to my family st the moment until I know what I am dealing with, they have been through enough.
I keep getting hurdles thrown in front of me, hope I can jump them
Oh, flipping heck - that must have been a real shock to you - it never rains but it pours!
However, I suppose it's good that any concern is picked up and acted on swiftly in case it needs follow up - I can imagine it was a heavy slap for you though.
Even if you don't mention it to your family (and they'll probably be cross if you don't!) make sure that you get the support you need from your BCN or Macmillan centre, or from this forum of course!
Hopefully the appointments will be quick and will mean that you're not waiting for too long to know what's going on...
Big hugs!

You'll get through those hoops I'm sure!
