So in   5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.

Why in the last few days have I become incredibly tired and emotional ??
Did anyone else feel the same?
  • Good evening ladies.

good luck tomorrow LAST ONE wooo hooo and the PICC removal is easy peasy honestly.

Hope all of you lovely ladies are good and not suffering too many SE’s

I’ve had a bit of a head cold, I think I caught it from , it’s cleared up now but knocked me for six for a while.

I had an amazing surprise on Wednesday, my DIL arranged a surprise lunch to celebrate the end of treatment, my daughter and a few of my loveliest friends were all there, just so emotional. My DIL made a lovely Humming Bird cake with a cut out in it saying ‘you’ve done it Jackie’ will admit to shedding a few tears but happy happy ones.

My OH has booked a days holiday tomorrow to make it a longer Bank Holiday and we are going to drive to Hastings with a couple of friends for the day, I hope it warms up a bit for us.

It’s been nice not travelling to and fro to the hospital for a couple of weeks, follow up Monday week for my RT and then my next appointment isn’t for 8 weeks when I get my next Z Acid infusion. Crikey before I know it I will be having my first mammogram and yearly check up!!

I hope you’ve got some nice things planned for the weekend and any SE’s stay well and truly away. Xxxxxxx

Oh how lovely of your DIL to arrange this surprise for you, yes I would have been in tears also.

Hope your last one goes in extra smoothly and you have no S/E whatsoever, well we can but hope eh.

I called the oncologist again about my Radiotherapy appointment.  He said I should have been booked in by now but he would get on to them and call me back.  Well his secretary called me back and said would you be able to pop up and see him in clinic today to sign a consent form, I know you have signed already but he has misplaced it.  Well I went and saw him, he said Radiotherapy have lost it not him but assures me he will get me in for beginning of June.  Ok lets see how long I have to wait eh.  Looking on the bright side I feel so much better than I did a couple of weeks ago, glass half full type of girl.  lol

  • Thanks ladies...

All done and Picc removed. Feels like big step. Nurses were all so lovely today... I will sort of miss them but don't want to see them again!

That must have been a lovely surprise. Great that you have such a lovely supportive family and friends and I know you have been a great help to your DIL and daughter through their brushes with the breast clinic. Must really feel like things are getting nearer to normal now.

Enjoy your holiday! Make sure you relax and enjoy the change of scenery and try and put BC as far back in your mind as you can.

Thats pants they lost your paperwork but usually find if they mess up they try to get you sorted quickly before you start the complaint form. I signed consent yesterday and she said I would get a call from RT hosp in a couple of days so think will chase if not heard by mid next week

Thanks or the PM. I tried to reply before school run but the send button seemed to disappear after I had typed it.

lots of love to everyone x

Oh bleeping bugger. But if you let all the poop get to you you will only beat yourself up. Still the ball is rolling. So it will be team Operation on the RT Thread in the coming weeks

Turned up at the pharmacy today to be given a heap of meds!!! Letrozole and Vit D tabs. Both not needed. Had to hand them back and go to GP to explain....... I already have enough from onco. Gawd. Think my lovely GP was being organised but as the Letrozle was a different brand I decided not to take until i see what happens with the first one. Having read the host of threads about Letrozole I am ready to get the one that will suit me. These things are sent to try us.

Hurray it posted. Hopefully very soon this will be on your menu as and when the SE's have bleeped off

Later there will be another celebration .

I feel like shedding a few tears as so many of us are reaching our new normal.

Not too busy a weekend but Mr Leo's birthday on Sunday and he hates a fuss, so simple celebrations.

Gentle hugs to everyone having a poop day and those having a sh**** day and to those smiling through it all

    So here goes...........

Thank you. No I aren't a big one for drink but have a big bottle of prosecco with my name ready for when the chemo drugs  have worn off. My friend also bought me a bottle of rhubarb gin  (combines my 2 favorite things) ...gonna save that for a nice night in with mr jammy when Lib goes on next sleepover.

    xx
