So in   5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.

Why in the last few days have I become incredibly tired and emotional ??
Did anyone else feel the same?

Hi Leolady I can vividly remember having my mastectomy and the day I went in hospital. I was so scared I say crying in the day room but when it was over I was so relieved I asked my surgeon if he's got it all and when he said yes I just felt so relieved.

Will be thinking about you NXT week and I'm sure you will not be grieving for Ian either

Filled with fluids and antibiotics. No idea what it was! Oh good but lovely young lady doc

    Can’t wait for next week!!!

Relatively quiet night in A&E no fights no brawls no police . Have to try another night!!!!

Ah Daity Ian and his crew seem to be playing stubborn buggers. Ian has left but his mates won’t to party on and have bought a few bugs with them zzzzzzzzzz

Are you trying to break the thread record for most amount of poop in 2 days? Poor you, last thing you needed but least they have let you home. Hope temp stays down and your body calms down over the weekend and stops reacting to the CT

.Hope you are tucked up in bed down and have a very uneventful snoozy Saturday catching up on sleep.

Sending love and strength and anything else I can,

    Joanne

  • Well this is not a good start! So sorry to hear about your A&E trip and hope you are not awake reading this nad are managing to get some recovery sleep in.

    lots of love

  • Leolady56 - Oh poop, poop and more poop! I'm so glad you are home and they have sorted you swiftly! No galloping this weekend, just a gentle trot with plenty of rest, take care and you will start to feel better soon, you have knocked one chemo hurdle down now on the grand national you're well on your way and we are right with you! Gentle hugs Deb x

     - oh good grief, you REALLY haven't had the best start to the poop infusions...

At least you're home and able to rest now - no galloping today, just relax and let the world go by for a bit...

Fingers crossed this will not be a weekly occurence! Mind you, A&E is always good for a people watching session, if you are so inclined. You did well to not be there on a busy night given that it was Friday and the whole inebriated world seems to descend on the NHS after the clubs close!!

Massive hugs to you lovely lady!

  • JammyR - How lovely that your overseas friend has taken the time to visit you, what a lovely catch up that will be and a great tonic for you! I'm so glad the se haven't been too bad love and you are feeling ok for the weekend its' such a relief eh!

Jacks77 - Wow your first week done on rt , glad it seems to have gone smoothly and even better that you have had company and coffee each day! By the way I've finally managed to get the r1 and r2 creams sorted hopefully yay! Well I think they are sachets she said! Enjoy the se free weekend Jac big hugs xx

Aliblue - Hope you have a lovely weekend away you deserve it lovely xx

Janeydoll, Aspen, Bigguy, Jbee66 Collies - Hopefully you are all not too bad with se and can enjoy the sunshine! X

Well from me my se are keeping away now thankfully and I'm feeling ok even managed a sunshine walk with the dog and dh yesterday followed by pub lunch in the beer garden in the Derbyshire dales but I did forego a beer as id scared myself last week having drank a bottle of pomegranate juice only to then find you are not supposed to drink it during chemo so it's put me off being naughty elsewhere now Lol! The only new se I've noticed yesterday are achy fingernails bit weird but nothing bad!

Leolady56 - I do hope you are getting some rest after last night, I have a confession that after Jacks77 telling me about R1 R2 creams I rang my gp to get them ordered in good time stating thst the hospital had said that's what I needed for rt! Little did I know that the gp rang the hospital and they hadn't heard of the creams lol! I felt like a naughty school kid having being found out lol! Anyway they have sorted them I think but I'm sure it's a red pen mark in my book hehee!

Love to everyone else on this bc merry go round  Deb xx

    Hi everyone:)

LeoLady, sorry to hear about your escapades through reactions and A+E visits...I hope that you have much better days ahead. Parts of your story did make me laugh though, I am an A+E nurse who often works the night shift and your descriptions of usual nights in there are true...punch ups and drama and all sorts. I hope that Day 2 is much less eventful for you.

This is Day 9 for me, and I had quite a rough week, managed to catch the kids cold and it absolutely floored me. Because it is my first chemo, I had no idea what was the chemo SE and what was the virus, felt absolutely vile with aching body, bad headache, nausea plus the usual blocked nose etc. Feeling so much better today though and had my morning walk with the dog which was lovely after a few days inside.

Jacks, sounds like a lovely friend that you have to keep you company for all of your rads appts. One of my good friends is coming to every chemo with me, and her company means a lot. I am having chemo in the city which is 2.5 hours away, so it is nice of her to come as it frees up hubby to be here and keep things ticking over at home. At first I thought I wouldn’t mind if anyone came with me, but her being there for round one was very comforting, we had some laughs and also some comfortable time just reading our books.

I hear that you are getting some lovely weather in parts of the UK so hopefully you all can see some sunshine. We are due a big storm tonight with a months worth of rain forecast in 2 days!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend xx

Hope today is a better day for you. Don't get your bingo card filled up too quickly!

It's nice to read that we're enjoying the warmer weather, the sunshine definitely makes me feel brighter. Fresh air is the best medicine.

I'm not doing too bad, just still very achy everywhere but nothing I can't manage .

My underarm scar and inside my boob where I had the lumpectomy and lymph removal is quite painful. I asked my nurse about it and it's to do with the division of cells when on the 'T'

It seems to be affecting the healing process. All temporary I know, I should improve after this weekend.

I have girlfriends coming over tomorrow for drinks, nibbles and gossip. .. I can't wait

    Have a good weekend xxx
