Good Morning Ladies!

A question for anyone taking Letrozole.  How long was it before side effects began to manifest?  I've been on it for a whopping 4 days now and don't notice anything yet.  I will say, that I'm on a weight loss (down 10 labs) and exercise regiment as well.  Anyone care to share their stories?  My thought is better to know all the potentials than to be blind sided.  Mira

Never accept "normal" on a thyroid test!  Did they test more than TSH?  You really need to know the free T4 and free T3, and always ask them to test Vit D, Vit B12, folate and ferritin as these all help with conversion.

I found that following my treatment, levothyroxine no longer worked for me and I had to change.

Do get a copy of your results and if you want help interpreting them, you could post them on Healthunlocked.com or send me a friend request and a private message and I will give you some other links.

    Hi
Ask your dr to put Accord on the prescription I have been put on CMS scheme which is where my pharmacist has a yearly prescription for my drugs.

That way you will never need to go to drs again as boots do a collection and delivery scheme.

And it is accord I get each time as they are delivered to me each month

    Hope this helps

Just to say that Accord may suit some better than others, some people prefer other makes, but whatever suits you, get that make on the prescription as Raegan says.

I have just returned from an appointment with my surgeon, given app as my wound has been asperated 7 times from surgery 24th Jan 17.

I was totally baffled and to be honest angry. After shaking my hand and Mels he said sorry was not able to discuss treatment with you after surgery and then asked how j was doing in my 18 sessions of chemo and herceptin. Well I said not in chemo or herceptin the offer was withdrawn by oncologist. It was in my medical notes that I was getting chemo. He tried to brush it aside by saying mistake made but I saw they were my notes and nobody else's.

I got home immediately emailed oncology dept and not had any reply typical of dept.cecen the BCN has met me loads of time k ew my name has asperated my wound herself four times and she was not bothered about me more bothered apologising to surgeon.

I have my own dd today and j will be asking for my notes and insisting I get them within a week

     Still angry. Raegan

Hi. I'm on  Letrozol and have been since February 2016. I've coped quite well so far mainly by taking it at night. But over the last few months I am a complete mess - pains in joints muscle pain and shattering fatigue.

My brand is Accord - and I can remember or find out what I was taking before. I have changed Doctors and she isn't very helpful.

Hi Dreamthief:  I don't think Almond milk is a soy product, but perhaps I'm wrong.  I've been trying out the diabetic diet plan - not diabetic, but a little over weight and it's a good balanced diet.  The almond milk fills up a portion of my protein requirements for the day, but doesn't touch my dairy requirements.  Perhaps I need to investigate something with just low fat.  Thanks for the info!  Mira

    Hi JanieY

I am on accord also have been since March this year. At first I was fine some sweats but the last three or four weeks I have had very painful joints and fatigue I can fall asleep on nails at the moment haha. Now the flushes are worse than ever you can actually see when I am taking one as face. Arms, hand go very red.

I also tried taking them at night as BCN said to try them at a different time but no joy still very sore and flushes bad.

My anniversary scan is due 15th December but went to see surgeon about the fluid he thought I was getting chemo and herceptin my notes had never been updated since March and I have been at hospital six times to have my wound asperated the seventh it finally seems to have worked.

I have decided I want a copy of my medical notes since Dec 2016 just waiting on link to be sent by records dept to complete.

On a lighter note my holiday in four weeks time off to Salou never been before but my sister says it is good. So the four of us cannot wait

    Hi

Not been on here for a while.

I see this chat has been going a while, but would love to get some more feed back.

Been on letrozole (teva) since march side effects at first were bearable but as time has gone on the pains in my joints legs and feet especially are debilitating.

I was very fit, healthy and active before and trying to get back there is a real struggle when you struggle to walk sometimes !

    You have to laugh !

I am now being switch to anestrozole, just fighting to get letter scanned on at doctors to get script, then the brand issue again starts, any advise would be appreciated.

Hopefully I will be running back to doctors to get repent prescriptions in a few months time

Back we are here alive and fighting, thanks lovely ladies x

Although Oncologist recommended that I take Letrozole, I made the decision not to do so. He informed me about all the possible side effects and I did extensive research.

I will not put these drugs into my body, albeit with or without side effects and then the liklihood of having to take even more drugs to counteract the debilitating and painful effects.

I understand that many people are scared about recurrance etc,  but no one can 100% guarantee that these drugs will prevent recurrance and I am trying my best to eat more healthily, thus losing weight and doing more exercise i.e. walking when I would have hopped on a bus. It's not going to be so easy when Winter arrives though.

Quality over quantity for me. I appreciate that probably the majority of people do, or will disagree with my decision; this subject has been regularly debated. However, we must all make our own decisions and choices and can only hope that they turn out to be the right ones.

I do hope that everyone who is currently suffering from the side effects of these drugs can find some relief.
