  • Hugs I can do  . Enjoy your weekend, nap when you can!!

  • Thanks toxophilite, that hug is very much appreciated ;) Think sleep wise this has been the worst week I've had in a long time, which is frustrating as I thought things were beginning to settle. On a plus my weekend starts here and I can rest and relax ;)

Hope you are doing okay? Thanks again for the hug xxxx

  • Getting very weary of RT now. Only 3 to go though. But have an ultrasound booked next week for a lump in my neck..... don't know whether to worry or not!!

Managed a couple of halfway decent nights, but could use a bit more. I'm sick of getting in from work with no energy left for anything else. I really feel for you, having been doing this for so much longer.

    xx

  • Hi toxophilite, it's understandable that you feel exhausted. Going to Radiotherapy every day really does take it out of you, especially if you are also working full time!

Hopefully once the radiotherapy is over your energy levels will gradually pick up, but don't expect it to happen over night! Although I am sure some people find it does.......just not me!!

As for whether or not you should worry about the lump in your neck?! Well whatever I say you will worry. So all I will say is.....will worrying change the result of the ultrasound? NO! So is it really worth wasting time and energy on something you can't change? Instead get on with enjoying your weekend. Do something nice to keep busy or something relaxing, something to spoil yourself. Try and get some sleep.......hopefully you'll find that easier than I do at the moment.

Sending you a ((((((((((supportive hug)))))))))) you are doing great Hun! Xxxxx

  • Hey  not worrying too much. I actually think it's something caused by the port I had. Started coming up when the port was itching under my skin above the collarbone. Possibly some fibroid type stuff in the vein. Or a gland because of an infection I'm not aware of. Onco seemed concerned though.

Going to shoot some arrows, and maybe prune the hedge that is blocking the kitchen window....

    Oh yes, and sleep....

  • Sounds like your weekend is sorted ;) Enjoy xxxx

  • Another restless night to contend with. I'm starting to think the Venlafaxine isn't the drug for me! Things had improved to begin with, but gradually things seem to be going downhill again. Yesterday I had numerous hot flushes with full on sweats, very frustrating and embarrassing. Tonight I'm back to lying here with sweat dripping down my face, so annoying! Keep telling myself that it might just take time, but can't help feeling that I am just one of those people who this isn't going to work for! Have an appointment with the GP on Tuesday, so I will discuss it with her then!

Hoping everyone else has managed to enjoy a good nights sleep. Xxx

I really hope you just need some more time for it to kick in! I've had insomnia most of my life so know how awful it is at the best of times, let alone with everything else you are dealing with!

Fingers crossed you can sort this!

  • Thanks ronstar, I appreciate the support and crossed fingers ;) Hope you are doing okay? XXXX

toxophilite, how are you doing today? Did you manage to get a good nights sleep? Xxx

  • Had a reasonable amount thanks  , most of it after 4am!! Went and braved the rain to shoot some arrows. Now catching up on recorded TV...... with icecream and Pringles!!

Have you managed to get a nap or two in?

Please keep going with the Venlafaxine for another week or two, it does take some time to get to optimum levels.
