Morning all! Lovely to read your news, hope those of you still having treatment are doing ok. A question for you. As a reminder, I had all my lymph nodes removed on right side and mastectomy and reconstruction, all done in Jan 22. Have had no issues to be concerned about until recently. My right arm movement has suddenly decreased, I can move it but it is painful and if I lean on a table or elbows on knees it is prohibitively painful. I’ve been to the osteopath twice and he’s not sure why. Any thoughts about it? Anyone experienced anything similar? X
Hmmmm, Anna12345 , I’d seek advice from your bc team just in case? You should still have a BCN contact?
It could, of course, be a bony impingement on the tendon that runs through the shoulder joint? And if so (believe me!) it may need some surgery to file down the bony spur involved. I was working as a busy OT when mine happened and I made it much worse by slipping on the ice and going down onto that arm. Yes I got pushed through to see an orthopaedics surgeon fast as it was stopping me working properly.

Yes I do, until next year. It’s strange because I also have a small lump that side (just above the armpit) which I had checked out last year and was told it was nothing (skin cyst) and it’s no bigger now but I can’t shake the nagging feeling that something is wrong. Now I’ve these strange pains. I’ve also got issues with my neck and been told it’s a compressed facet joint which I do think is the case but again, I don’t know. Yes I think I’ll contact the BCN, thanks x
Ha! The super physio I had when my shoulder (it’s the same side as my bc too though only had a few nodes removed) mobilised it very fully post surgery and saw me years later when I too had neck trouble, he despaired about my neck as it’s very arthritic! But some traction did help, I do daily specific neck exercises as well as feet and ankle - and shoulder ones too!
hope it proves to be ‘just one of those things’ and eases off for you soon

Definitely get in touch with your BCN Anna12345 I had problems with pain/spasm/arm movement on mx side and was referred for physio which really helped. Mx area adhesions (no recon) and I should keep up stretching exercises.
