Good morning....
I think most of you have a beautiful day today. I know the weather man says ' heatwave' but I wish we had your temperatures. We have been warned to expect a 'real feel' of 43°. That might feel just a bit hot, even for us.
OH saw the dermatalogue on Friday about his cyst and was surprised he has to have a biopsy as she is thinking melanoma. It will be in September. I don't think we have to worry as I think it is the non invasive kind but it was still unexpected.
I did my walk early. I have part cooked Sunday lunch but it will be with salad not gravy. I have to go shopping now. We have to plan our day carefully in this heat. We have already closed shutters and blacked out velux windows. It does help. It is good to see that as OAP's the gov, bank and insurance are all concerned for our well being. We have received heatwave (canicule) warnings and advice from all three as text messages. You know it's going to hot if you receive those......
Now, I hope you all have a good day. I know one or two of you are struggling with side effects and others anxiety while you wait for additional tests. I do think of you all often. So far, I know I have been lucky that my cancer hasn't returned but I do empathise with those of you who are facing treatments yet again.
Take care. Enjoy the sunshine. At least blue skies and bright light shining lifts the spirits.
Love to all. Karen
Silverberg enjoy cleethorpes/east coast break.
very high temps where you are Lacomtekp Sounds like ok weather where I live but I’m in India with temps in mid-high 20’s but add 5° on plus the monsoon rains/humidity …. can be very tiring.
“ The only constant thing in life is change “
Humidity can be tough especially if you’re on one of those hormone buster drugs too Flossie25 , but enjoy India anyway.
temps here in England are rising to the low 30°s the next few days. keep cool, folks, curtains closed against the sun….

Good morning....
We just had a dramatic evening and night. A wild fire broke out in the forest behind our village. We were lucky. It was turned on the other side of the valley but is still alight ....200 hectares minimum . Water planes in constant convoy....no electricity since 17.00 yesterday and no sign of it returning. Then we have the heat....Bordeaux, Angouléme and Bergerac officially recorded 44° yesterday so in unshaded spots.....who knows what the temp is feeling like.
OH had to find friends in another area this morning because with no electric and the heat, he had to get his insulin into a fridge.
Photos show the developing fire and some planes. They are continuing still and the fire is getting closer to another village. We had to eat out.....no electricityin 12 communes but luckily our nearest town wasn't effected. We use our l9cal bar regularly and she kindly let us recharge everything so we are ok for another day!
I was saving solar garden lights for the Autumn to light up the steps but I've added the new ones so we have some lights later on.
Just another adventure......love to all.
Goodness! But glad that you’re safe, Lacomtekp although having no power when you need it is a bit tough, good that you’ve had some help in keeping that insulin cool, I know how important it is. Hubs had special covers he could wet so that the insulin kept cool short-term, he used them for holidays.
Hope nobody loses their homes in those fires.

Hope you’re all as cool as possible, Fruit Loops, I’m sat outside as it’s cooler than indoors at present, wondering if my garden lights are too bright to see the Perseid meteor shower which is at its peak tonight.
so, Ladies if you can’t sleep, seek out some dark sky and look for shooting stars!
night night Fruit Loops, sleep as well as you can, stay safe, plenty of sleepy fairy dust for all who wish

Good morning....
At last the fire is out. It got a bit close on Tuesday evening but two storms with heavy rain on Wednesday helped the fire services. Over 300 firemen were flown in from other areas. The local planes and helicopters transporting water were quite small but the fire became so important, the national team was despatched and they were huge especially when they lined up to the fire and flew low over our house. But although people were evacuated, no one was hurt. Our friends said the gendarme arrived at the door and said 'now!' Terrifying. No time to collect anything but handbag. It wasn't needed but I'm so pleased I had watched another fire in the south at the weekend, seen how people had nothing, and when the fire was in our valley, I packed a case with change of clothes, toiletries, pills, sentimental jewellery and important papers including mum and dad's certificates. I am leaving it packed. We live surrounded by woods and fields of paper crisp sunflowers and maize. Temps were down to 33° yesterday but next three days back to 40's so as the fire happened so fast, there could be another.
I am off for my walk now. The sky is clear and the sunrise is imminent.
Take care all. I hope you have a good day.
