  • Ooh right I might look for flavoured oil.  Got my current one from G&B.

Blooming leaves!  I'd love you have seen her running around .  I got out my circa 1995 electric scarifier and rake .  Think it's meant gif short people - were people shorter 27 years ago ?   My hubby said "why don't you put handle up as you are bent over  double". It's not adjustable but tell your friend it picks  up leaves !  The black birds were very happy as they scoured lawn for worms!

  • I must be really old, just watched Monty pythons flying circus and giggled!

Night night Fruit Loops, sleep well and stay safe

plenty of sleepy fairy dust for all who wish

     hugs xxx

  • Just browsing this chat because... Well... I'm awake... Again! Sigh. Awful insomnia, ongoing. I'm wondering if this is cancer or menopause related. I'm thinking Probably menopause. Someone suggested HRT. My cancer is not hormone sensitive so maybe worth asking the GP? Just seen the comments about CBD. Didn't know that was a possible way forward either. Is this a self help idea or a medically sanctioned possibility. Any thoughts? To anyone struggling with insomnia... Boy do you have my sympathy cos I am well fed up. I've actually resorted to sleeping tablets from the doc when I'm feeling really really desperate but they're not something you can take regularly. Hey hoh, going to have a read of a book...

  • Hi Iblodwin,

I am awake too. I only started having nsomnia after my lumpectomy. I have already been through the menopause but I guess  for me it could be from the letrozole which appatently brings back menopausal symptoms. Whatever it is I am fed up too. Trying to maintain a full time job on no sleep is no fun.

My daughter has a 2 week old baby and we message most nights while she is awake with aa wide awake baby and I am just awake!!

  • LOL, shouldn't laugh but I often message my sister... She's usually awake too. What a pair we are! I'm trying to do lots of exercise to tire myself out so I can sleep. I can get tired, just can't matter the sleeping bit. Night time is sooooooo boring. Then you feel shattered all day. Fortunately I'm retired so don't have to worry about work. Thank goodness.

  • I did the weekly food shop, then went for a two hour walk with my son and his fiancee today. I was shattered. but still sleep evades me. The pollen in the air isnt helping either.I would usually get up but my son and his fiancee have come to stay and she is such a light sleeper I am scared to move in case the floorboards on the landing creak and wake her!

  • That's even worse having visitors and being trapped in your room. I've wandered into the spare room so I can 'play' on my phone. I realise that looking at a phone screen is unhelpful but sometimes you just have to do something to pass the time. Just done quordle on Google.

  • I like to listen to music. I am awake but too exhausted to read.

It would be helpful to know why we are struggling to sleep. My husband had cancer 17 years ago and didn't have any trouble sleeping. He could fall asleep standing up!

  • I think i might consult the GP... I'm thinking it must be menopause related. But who knows. Worth an ask I suppose.

  • Love the giraffe pic.

My husband is due to be part of medical trials involving cbd. It was due to start pre covid but got delayed. Of course he wont know if he is getting the cbd or the placebo but could be interesting.

Sorry to hear about all the aches and pains everyone. Gosh the arthritis has really kicked in for me in the last few weeks. I have been taking letrozole for 4 months now. I can't sleep on my back and I still can't sleep on the side I had the lumpectomy (when will I be able to again? My op was last September!) and I have arthritis pain in the shoulder on my other side. Add in insomnia and I have to say I dread nightime!
