.

  • Night all, eyelids drooping a bit, best go and battle with this sleeping on my back. Underarm wound/stitches driving me crazy now. When do they 'dissolve'?

  • Good night to you too Northerner and Gander..

Gander when did you have your op? I lay on my back (can't say I slept really but snoozed a bit) for a couple of months before I could lie on one side. I still can't sleep on the side with stitches although that is from the pain in my breast still. The stitches under the arm healed within a couple of weeks.

    We shall get there.

  • I was accountant in public sector.  I'm passionate about public services and always remembered I was paid to be a public servant so no looking down my nose on people,  My job was to help even if they rang the wrong number though I did get a bit frustrated that one person rang my direct line constantly for bus times,  In the end I told them bus running early so hurry!  They never rang again Rofl

  • Hi Mag123

just wondering if it might be worth you trying dry mouth pastilles eg Salivix Plus.  I used them when suffering with my mouth during chemo. I bought them from Amazon but would presume chemists should have them too.they really helped me!

  • Bet you weren't running up £.5 mill bills expecting taxpayers to pay for transport though.........like Truss.

  • Hi Fruit Loops, clearly I shouldn’t glance on here at silly o’clock Andrea’s some of your posts!
    one for you ……

of course, now I am lying here thinking how much I could enjoy a nice piece of cheese on toast right now!! Although think I might wait till lunchtime Yum

Reading some of things you wrote was quite interesting. I’m 10years behind you, but still remember the eye level grill and the fizzy pop bottles that you could return and get 10p back on! In fact Dad was a milkman and he would bring us a couple of bottles home every couple of weeks! It was classed as a Special treat when I was little, certainly not an every day drink like it is nowadays!
It started me thinking about things I remember and just the other day I was in B&M and saw a bag of crisps which had packets of Bacon Fries and Scampi! These used to be the treat I had from the bar when I went to watch mum and dad play skittles when I was little Blush I recall them hanging up behind the bar on a piece of card and the bar lady would pull a packet it off! Such a strange thing to recall, but it made me smile!

Anyway I should try and get back to sleep! Sending Love and Hugs to all you Fruit Loops! Special hugs to those of you getting over surgery! Take care everyone. Sal xxxx

  • . Ooh that cheese on toast looks good ! I remember  pop and sweets being a treat too.  I sort of continued that with my daughter and only had pop in house birthday parties & Christmas but they last for months as I buy a slab of cans.  Still have left overs from hen party last May but they drunk all my gin !

Hope all the ladies in active treatment/surgery recovery doing ok.

  • Hi BaileyLady thank you so much for the suggestion. I shall certainly check those out.

  • Gosh that sizzling cheese on toast was a wonderful picture to wake up to. I am temoyed to make some later for my lunch!

I remember the Corona van delivering fizzy pop every few weeks. I can still hear the sound of the bottles clinking on the lorry. We had the Sunblest bread van, the milkman and a green grocer who delivered.

I also remember the annual visit of the onion man from France with a string of onions hanging round his neck.

  • I am really struggling to get up for work today! I  am just so tired and sore.

Have a good Friday all you lovely people
