Grogg hope you are able to get to sleep soon! Constipation is a NIGHTMARE! I am now on Laxatives daily just to keep ‘regular’! Never in my life did I have issues, until during Chemo and then pretty much constantly since!! But that’s life! One of those small gifts that Cancer can bring with it!!

See it’s easy! Just close those eyes!
Night night Fruit Loops xxxxx
Regarding tummy issues I use Symprove. It was recommended to me and seems to be the only thing I have tried that stops horrible bloating .
Its expensive but I go with it as have had too many problems in the past with constipation and bloating.
Saying that good old C has definitely affected my bowels . I’m not so regular as before .
Ummmm . Another added to the list .
Stay loopy folks , it’s the only way !!!!
xx.
Hi …and welcome!I see the ladies have been making you feel at home….stick around it is nice and friendly on here.
Sorry I haven’t been here for AGES,I have been helping at Church making the Nativity,it is taking simply ages and there are only 2 of us helping….however we will get there.
Also have been disagniosed with silly old osteopenia.Apparently being on Letrozole means it is best to get bone density tests every few years.Anyway when I broke my toe I thought,”Oh that was a bit too easy to break then”and wondered then about my bone density and asked my GP for a dexa scan.Anyway, apparently it is on the way to osteoporosis, but if I take care of my bones it won’t develop into osteoporosis.
so am on the Calcium and Vit D tabs from GP and having lots of dairy.
i wanted to ask if anybody knows if semi-skimmed milk and low-fat yogurts etc, have less calcium?I thought that was true then I read on a Milk Manufacturers site that that is a come on -held belief which isn’t true.
So now am all confused, and want to stay on my diet at SW,even loosely, and these things are helping.
I don’t want to put the weight back…
I guess I could talk to the lady who runs it,but there may be conflicts of interest there.
Anyway, listening to Micheal Jackson and parcelling Christmas pressies,Nice xxx
love to all Xxx
Hi Violetsniff
Skimmed and semi skimmed milk usually have the same amount of calcium or sometimes more as it’s been fortified with extra.
Hi Violetsniff, just thought I’d chip in re osteopenia and calcium in milk. I’ve got osteopenia too, found out after dexa scan at start of taking Anastrozole (letrozole’s ‘nasty’ sister!). I take daily calcium and Vit D, don’t have any dairy but have oat ‘milk’ in my porridge and soya ‘milk’ I’m my tea. Both are fortified with calcium at roughly same levels as cows milk. I had a follow up dexa scan after 2 years and the osteopenia is stable despite the bone thinning effects of the Anastrozole and despite not having any dairy products. Weight bearing exercise also helps to strengthen the bones as you probably already know. There are other good foods for calcium - just Google calcium rich foods. I can’t remember now what I added to help increase mine but I think it includes dried figs which I add to my porridge! My GP said alcohol and caffeine are both bad for bone health (I think they interfere with calcium absorption). I don’t drink but I do love tea and coffee so I’ve limited the caffeinated versions.
I think I remember that you’ve finished your letrozole sentence now? So hopefully your bones will strengthen with the supplements. Do ask for a follow up dexa scan after 2-3 years to check. HFxxx
If you don't want to increase diary these are what they suggest for vegans. My daughter vegan so has no diary.
Vegan sources of calcium and vitamin D (NHS)
Calcium is needed to maintain healthy bones and teeth.
Non-vegans get most of their calcium from dairy foods (milk, cheese and yoghurt), but vegans can get it from other foods.
Good sources of calcium for vegans include:
A 30g portion of dried fruit counts as 1 of your 5 A Day, but should be eaten at mealtimes, not as a snack between meals, to reduce the impact of sugar on teeth.
