Son on way up from Norfolk for business meeting So meeting in a park for SD walk . Will place gifts etc that have been in isolation into boot of car . Obviously that's why it's raining with high winds forecast
Morning Sal,
I'm feeling less nauseous today, and think the Clarithromycin prescribed on Monday might have been part of thr problem, so calling this morning. I've still the tinnitis, and it's possible it's permanent as it's the case for 5% of people, but it might improve. If it doesn't I'll give the stupid teacher a piece of my mind for coming to school with symptoms and not following the rules!!! Our borough was 206/100,000 less than a week ago and now 285/100,000, and my doctor said nearly all the the cases in the last 2-3 weeks have been linked to schools. Schools safe??? Trashed. My daughter tested negative on day 6 of exposure then developed symptoms on day 7/8. Testing on day 5 to avoid quarantine. Trashed. My older daughter at uni has just done her lateral flow tests, which are 70% accurate and can miss up to 50% of people with covid. These are what will be sent to schools in January. So if you have covid there's a 50%-70% chance it might tell you? If there were tests for cancer that were that inaccurate would the government spend billions (the cost for schools alone) on them? ) Apparently £40 billion is being spent on these tests.
Anyway, rant over... I'm guessing catching 50-70% of the cases is better than nothing. It will allow staff to remain in schools, so they can remain open, and if they follow the rules (unlike my daughters teacher) then it might still be ok. I went to school for 2 days when infectious because my daughter's test was negative. I wore a mask nearly all the time except when in my office, and our school have a rule of only one in an office, and limit numbers in the staff room. Windows are open in every room and students are allowed to keep coats on (they also wear masks indoors, even in their bubbles). I didn't infect anyone, despite running a busy library with staff coming throughout the day and students with timetables lessons. Sorry, rant over this time!
Raining here too. It seems to rain nearly all the time in London at the moment, but ther garden is looking good as a result:)
Glad you're feeling a bit better Londonmumof2 It must be so frustrating following all Covid rules and because of covidiots you then get infected .
Daughter works in primary school and been lucky so far only had to isolate once but other bubbles are in and out like
yo- yo mainly cos parents sending them in with symptoms !
Take care
Morning, Fruit Loops all,
hoping, for all, your day goes well
I’m sure you’ll give that teacher the benefit of your experience, Londonmumof2, but doubt if she will take a lot of notice? I am frankly, appalled at the mis-spent billions that this Govt has done, without any form of regulation. That includes, of course, PPE that doesn’t meet requirements and tests that miss cases. But we are stuck with this shower for a few years yet....at least they did seek vaccinations!
