hi ladies i totally agree this group is awesome, true solidarity through adversity and the roller coaster that is cancer, i am about a third on the journey now and reading some of he blogs on here and comments, i am inspired inspired that we can get through this, and on the bad days we can talk to others whom have had those bad days. sometimes it doesnt mean talking about cancer but just talking about something funny, or something totally out there or something mundane thats happened to you, sometimes that the best thing just to know that there are so many of us, wanting some of the mundane, non clinical, however feel ok to talk about our cancer. keep smiling and hugs to everyone. xxxxxx
This may sound crazy, we have a dog, we have a field on our doorstep ..... I just can't get myself to go out there.... here is my reasoning behind it..... we are in Tier 3.... most people that go out, I would say half wear masks and half don't. Of the half that do wear masks, I reckon 10% have them 'under their chin' so they can talk (hmm can still talk with mask over mouth).
So back to my reasoning.... if any of the ones not wearing masks should have covid - well, my thoughts are - that their breath will 'stay airborne' for a good 30 minutes - maybe a little more or maybe a little less given the conditions. This makes me feel a 'little claustrophobic' in a way that I am making myself 'walk though air that could be contaminated' - I would not know who/when/with mask/without mask had last walked by.... hence the not going out at all. We should make the effort to drive somewhere 'quiet' - but, well with all this eating and sleeping - just don't feel like it.
Maybe, if I had done this from the start I would have confidence in going out and walking - now it just scares me.... especially with how poorly people are and how easy it seems to spread.
If I could do all that my 'mind' can come up with I'd have no problem - but if I'm having to do it, it just doesn't happen.
I mean how bad is this.... I have Advent Calendars for 8 Great Nephews and Great Nieces.... I have to post them.... it is now the 9th December, and """ I still have them "" .... because I need to print labels and get them posted ... how bad is this... I've had them since the 2nd week of November... my intentions are there - but, like the saying goes 'Actions speak louder than words' - owwww Sal arrrghhhh - Thank you for the Big Hug - definitely needed and appreciated.
I'm getting concerned about Londonmumof2- I really hoping symptoms are improving and taking time out to recharge
Thinking of you all and sending lots of love and hugs xxxx
WhatHappened....looks like you've shopped early for Christmas 2021!( re.advent calendars!)
Is anyone else still having difficulty posting? I have been trying on and off since yesterday. Looks possible this time plus I have a picture icon so for all those virtual walks tomorrow

P.S. Londonmumof2 hope you're ok. Last thing we knew you were waiting for the doctor.....
Just when I thought I had enough to deal with, this happens: leg feeling a bit warm and slightly painful, looks a bit swollen. Has been niggling for a few days, but had tried to ignore it. Rang oncology. They have booked a scan for tomorrow morning. Meanwhile I had to go up to the hospital this evening to get a heparin injection, because GP said he couldn’t prescribe it. Feeling exhausted now. But have to be on an early train so better get some sleep.
Night all, sleep well.
Judith
WhatHappened you need to get out ..told you this before . Do you know how many cases in your post code area . We're tier three but only 11 cases within three miles of house . I use nhs postcode checker to get numbers to help make choices
I chose what time to go out early morning is good but then you need to get some sleep first ! Try getting in car and go somewhere with view we often take a salad or sandwich and eat lunch looking at view sounds sad but at least it means I can get out .Im still shielded so really chose where and when I feel safe .
Did I read you were going on tread mill today ? 5 mins is better than nothing and before you know it it will be ten .
Ill stop nagging now lol
I was sent for blood tests and an x-ray to a hospital I hate (miscarried there 19 years ago and the entire sac with fetus inside sat on a shelf forgotten for 6 weeks. This was my first time back since) Anyway my lungs have areas of covid which should clear in 4-6 weeks, and when i got home checked the blood results and some of my blood readings are off, and my oxygen levels from bloods were terrible! 56.7 (95-100) and another one was 3.9 (12.6-14). I called 111 in a panic and the nurse told me to go straight to A&E! I got to the door of my usual A&E, announced 'day 9 of covid and shielding', and explained, to be told if it was veinous it was fine as it's always much lower, so home again! You'd think a covid nurse on 111 might think of that but......:)
Anyway, I'm off eating but was treated to a take-away sweet chilli chicken wrap from the McDonalds there as a celebratory meal, and I've not had one in at least 10 years, probably more, so enjoyed it.
Home again moping and every so often annoying hubbie (also day 9) who has taken to lying in bed checking his blood pressure every so often and has developed a husky voice. X
Had anyone heard from Yorkshire_defector since her DIEP yesterday?
