.

  • Good morning.....

Well, it's very dark here this morning but I think we are south of the continuous rain so we may see some sun and the rain has been welcome. It was very windy so I put the garden furniture away. Our table for two.....no visitors this year.....has a glass top!

As for the roof....well, I have some progress and an expert will visit to assess the problem but not until October 14th so until then, the roof will leak. At the moment the water is coming in our store so we've moved everything to the edges but the next cracked area is over the bedrooms and if they break.....well, I'll rent out the room for you ladies with flushes.....a cooling shower throughout the night! Fingers crossed it keeps dryish for a few more weeks.....

Take care everyone. How was the acupuncture ? Kitten behaving @Daylightdancer666? ...hope you have a better day?  are you still in Cumbria? It's so beautiful there.  hope the Botox goes in well  ....not sure what stage your treatment is at but you are such an inspiration to newcomers when you explain how many years between the two cancers. I'm sorry it returned but at least you know the treatments can give you many years without cancer...how are you?thinking of you. Did you get the scan? how is Wales with the new restrictions? I was watching them on tv.

So another day ....just a glimmer of daylight now.

    Stay safe. Look after yourself.

  • Reference to previous entry........I think the app is improving but I don't know why some of you are green and some normal when I put you all in using the same method! I just wanted you to know you are all equal in my thoughts.....plus those I didn't list today......

Hello, I'm new to this forum, my (same sex) partner of 29 years has recently been diagnosed with lobular BC. She is waiting for a CT scan to check for spread (it is large tumour but not in other breast according to MRI), if results are OK she is having a double mastectomy. Partner doesn’t yet want to access on-line support.

Sleep seems to be an ancient memory for me though, is it OK for me to join this thread? The waiting and false horizons are very hard.

    Linz.

  • . I'm in Swansea abd so far we have avoided the local lockdown in our county but we on watch.  If we do go into lockdown then I will not be allowed to leave Swansea!  That will be awful !  Currently I can drive through Bridgend (locked down) to go to Cardiff (not locked down) and did do yesterday.  My daughters future father in law is in hospital in Cardiff and currently allow 1 30 minute visit a week for his wife and I take her every Wednesday.  I've made her part of our family bubble so I can take her but if we locked down I can't !  She doesn't drive and her son works full time and currently takes her every weekend to swap laundry but she can't have visiting slot on weekend !  She doesn't drive and is not receptive to getting train so not sure what she'll do.  I've only been to pub once since lockdown and we wee home by 9 tipsy !!!!  We walked to local with beer garden ,  ordered my app and had a lovely chat with waiter as we were only people in garden !   Nice few hours but drank too much!
My daughter is worrying about her wedding.  Wales still 30 which is enough for parents , aunties/uncles and groomsmen & bridesmaids and she's ok with that !  If we go to 15 not sure what she'll do.  Wedding not till May 2021 so hopefully it will be ok.  Don't think it's going to ever be the 80 day 150 night though.  She's hoping to move out in next few weeks.  Waiting for house sale to go through .

    Sad news

Many on here will be so sad to learn that Daloni, who has been an inspiration and support to many of us on the forums, and within Macmillan, for many years, has sadly passed away.  My last memory of Daloni was at an event in London last year where, as a guest speaker, she inspired us all with her eloquent words.  I will miss you Daloni.

  •  Just wanted to say......

Sorry to hear about your partner and of course you are welcome here and if/when your partner feels ready, she would be very welcome too! I hope we are able to at least keep you entertained and supported through the long nights! Believe me, we have all been there! Sal xxxx

  • you are very welcome to the group, and I hope you soon get more settled as the treatment starts. Bless her, your partner will be upset and no wonder I very much hope the scans reveal no spread whatsoever xxx

we were at The Mumbles yesterday and the beach at Swansea and the marina, we should have had a meet up!!!

HOWEVER I am now back home in Lancashire after the tour company decided it would be unsafe to continue. We were brought back last night and will have a Full Refund which is very fair of them.

People have said better to be safe than sorry but I am back at work on Monday with 80 staff and 50 patients so don't see how that is safer.

I will try to post a picture or two from my phone xxx if it is allowing pictures today xxx

  • Not to worry

I still got notification even though not green Shrug tone2We came home yesterday for my podiatry appointment this morning ..still trying to save big toe nails . Growing back but need packing to stop ingrown ...ouch !

We've had continuous rain in Cumbria on way back then here yesterday still a bit damp this morning .

Yes Cumbria lovely and we will go back at weekend for another week .It is so much easier to shield over there no the numbers are lower ( although climbing like elsewhere ) .

We will return for a week For  flu jab 2/10 and my Herceptin jab on the 5th then if the balance of figures is the same back to Cumbria we will go .

Im just grateful we can do this . At least over in Cumbria we have the freedom of bridle paths and parklands away from others .

So planning meals and Baking today ,bread ,pies ,lasagne to take back over then we don't need to go into Penrith shops .

Also need to swap summer and winter clothing need to put some fleeces over in van for extra layers as evenings draw in .

One step at a time and ...Breathe !
