Hello,
I'm awake too but for differing reasons but thought would say that a colleague has visited a herbalist for similar problems and now drinks sage tea. Sounds disgusting but she says it's not too bad and believe s it is helping.
Hope you get some sleep.xx
Take a deep breath ... then on with the day.
Thanks I did try sage tablets which didn't work! But maybe I need to give them another go!
Thanks for sharing, hope you get back to sleep soon too xx
"Oh that's disappointing to say the least, she also has red clover something or other. Xxx
Take a deep breath ... then on with the day.
Can you buy melatonin capsules in the UK? We have some we use for jetlag that we bought in Asia. Amazing!!!
Also my hubby got a duvet for volcanoes at IKEA. It's so thin, it hardly feels like more than the cover. Cost = $18, which is about 10 pounds. And ... why do you wear a nightie? I've never worn anything in our summer and not in winter now lol.
Hope you get back to sleep soon xxxxxxx
Hugs
Thanks Lynn, I wear a nightdress because I don't just get hot flushes/sweats I get cold flushes as well! Just to make life more complicated. So without nightwear I am too cold! I wear a light cotton night shirt, so nothing too warm! The duvet I bought was 1 tog, really light!Â
I am coming to the conclusion that this IS connected to the pain meds, even if they keep telling me it isn't! I don't see why the Zoladex should suddenly start causing night sweats and horrendous hot flushes, when I've been on it for over a year!Â
So will discuss with my hospice nurse tomorrow, if I can get hold of her and see what she suggests. I CAN'T go on like this
 It's just unbearable!Â
Hope you are doing okay, and I hope you have a great nights sleep. Thanks for the support Hun, I really appreciate it xxxx
Well just as I thought things couldn't get much worse, I go to bed at 11pm and start having night sweats every half hour
 Xxx
Now I know for sure that I do need the 3 day weekend each week! As I worked Friday last week I have only had Sat and Sunday off and this morning I am not feeling ready to start a working week!! Not helped by having to start at 8 today. But that's life!
I am continuing to write on this post, as although it's quiet and only the odd person replies, I am finding it at least gives me an outlet to say how I am feeling, while trying to get through this 'tricky' patch!
I'm going to leave a message for the hospice nurse to call me. I definitely want to stop these pain meds and try something else. Not keen on going through weeks of getting used to a new drug BUT I have been on this for approx a month and things have not improved. In fact the night sweats are getting worse :-( I am exhausted and started to think the pain was more bearable than this constant sweating and feeling hot, then cold then hot etc etc day and night! As I lie here now I have sweat dripping down my face and neck! The room is cold and I have no covers on......so work that out! It's just horrid and I don't want to carry on Like this. If there is even a small chance it's down to the Oxycodone I want to try changing it to see! Although am a little bit scared that they are right and it's the Zoladex and I am stuck with it!!!! Which would NOT be good news!
Anyway the only way I will know is to try a different drug! So that's what I will suggest! Just hope they listen!!
Right time to get up and showered ready for the day! Hope everyone else is managing to get more sleep. Wishing you all a Good Monday! Xxxxx
Love the pic! I felt that way after a restless night and having to hit the road at 6.30 this morning!
I really do hope you find a workable solution. Lack of sleep leaves you incapable of coping with anything else.
Thinking of you
Hugs xx
Karen
