.
Evening Fruit Loops, hope you have had a good weekend. Finally managed to catch up on your posts, some really lovely pics of those of you that managed to get away for a few days. Days here are the same everyday, it seems that I have been stuck in for ever, just can’t wait to get out again, although I am very wary, the only trips out I have had has been to the hospital to get my chemo, and injections etc, and short walks with our dog where it is not busy.
So I decided that I would try my hand at making masks for my girls and older grandchildren, as they will need them when they go shopping, they were really easy to make, and thought I would post my efforts.

Good luck to anyone with treatment and appointments next week, and those heading away stay safe and enjoy xxx
Great masks, !
Night night fruit loops, sleep well and stay safe....
sleepy fairy dust available for all who wish, will take some myself as I couldn’t get to sleep for ages last night!

Morning all !!!! Seriously hope you all asleep ! I'm listening to Darkness radio about Angels!!
I had my first post lockdown hairdresser appointment in Friday ! I'm not overly stressed about Covid but I felt a bit uncomfortable! It's a small 3 chair salon and each chair full with just a quick anti bacterial wipe between clients! 3 people did my hair -wash/colour & cut & blow dry ! My hubby went for cut too - his hair grows so quick I've cut his hair 5 times during lockdown . He still gets police price even though retired so she charged him £8.50 ! He gave her £20 and told her to keep the change ! No wonder he still gets discounted price!!!
Wales still a bit behind England in loosening lockdown and I'm a member of a few local groups on Facebook . What is sickening me about this pandemic is the judgemental attitude of others! This virus is with us for a long time and we cannot stay In lockdown for ever so everyone had to make a personal choice on how they go about their life. Aside from crowded public transport I personally see no need for masks but that's my personal decision. If others feel differently and want to wear them everywhere then of course they can but on these Facebook groups the name calling is horrendous and comments like 'you deserve to die' etc! How the hell has this happened ! I thought we were tolerant and knew sometimes we have to agree to disagree. My pet hate about masks in supermarkets is people constantly move them up and down then touch items on shelves , put them back etc , pull down again to talk to cashier, touch the card reader etc !! Some of the masks look like the don't see the inside of the washing machine either !!!I don't wear a mask unless asked to - I've been to a few dress shops by appointment and some have requested . I anti vac my trolley and then my hands . I no longer touch items on shelves and replace . I use the anti bac on aisles periodically! I don't touch my mouth the whole visit. I know if I had a mask on in supermarket I would be constantly touching too as I've had this very strange thing since a young child of not being able to catch my breath. My mother took me to doctor as a child and he said it was either panic attack after struggling once or attention seeking! I do think it's anxiety related after noticing I cant catch my breath once but it happens at night when sleeping too! I often wake up struggling but a few drops of Olbas oil on my pillow relieves! I have been checked for asthma and I don't have it! I can't sit in steam rooms or sauna as I can't catch my breath but my hubby who is asthmatic finds it helps his breathing !! Strange !!
Good morning all..........
I hopeGrogg that you got some sleep . I was interested in your dilemma. Did you know that there is more than one type of sleep apnea? There is the well known 'stop breathing' type but there is a second type where the person breathes too shallowly to take in enough oxygen and ends up gulping in air giving the effect of catching your breath. I had this problem a few years ago. I was given a mask with pure air to use at night. I did find it awkward and often slept in a seperate room and when I got cancer I couldn't use it because I got too hot but we noticed that it had trained my breathing by then. You can only breath deeply wearing it and I had learnt to do this and I no longer needed it. Perhaps you could check this isn't your problem? The test isn't very nice in that you have to wear monitors for about 12 hours everywhere. I wish I had my old phone....the photo is on it ( or stored somewhere OH puts files!). I had a net on my head and face to stop them moving and looked like a zombie. Naively I had arranged to meet OH in a cafe over the road from the hospital. I discovered all these children were looking at me terrified. I hadn't looked in a mirror up until then. Anyway, it showed this lack of oxygen which causes very restless nights, fatigue in the day and things like cramp or restless legs. Just a thought....
So today will be beautiful. It's an early start day with afternoon rest. 35° is quite warm but it's not humid so you adapt.
So I am now going outside with my breakfast.
Hope today goes well for everyone. I shall be thinking of you and following your stories.
moomy...how did the choir go? I found your message too late to watch although I guess it will be on Youtube for a while.
must go. OH is waiting for me to have breakfast together.
Love Karen
Hi Karen/Lacomtekp,
thank you for asking, yes the link will work for you tube. It was amazing and yes, I cried, even hubs cried! It’s just beautiful and full of meaning for these sad times.
Hi Grogg, Karen may well be right in that you’re not breathing correctly? It might not need as much as she obviously went through (poor lass) but you might need re-training.
Morning all fruit loops, hope anyone who has any appointments this week finds them easy and well managed.

Lacomtekp that's interesting as I definitely get caught in cycle of struggling to get my breath and feel I'm breathing shallower! I know if I'm lying too flat it's worse but I'll also get it just sitting watching tv or walking around. Also just remembered last time I had surgery as I was coming around in recovery room the nurse asked me if I was asthmatic so I'm guessing it happened then too ! I've had a GA before though and not asked them !! I think it's linked to my hayfever which starts in February and goes on till September as it improves when I take a steroid nasal spray which I did for about 20 years. I don't take daily anymore as my hayfever so much improved that a loratidine tablet controls unless I am going to be around flowers - if I'm going to funeral I need nasal diary , eye drops and tablet !!!
Just watched and listened to your virtual choir, moomy, beautiful and very moving. You must be very proud to have been part of it, a wonderful worldwide effort and beautifully put together. Thanks for posting the link. HFxx
Thank you so much HappyFeet1 ! I played it again today with the Engineering team, just after lunch, they too seemed to enjoy it. I was once again a bit moist at the eyes but managed to control myself!
Eric and his team have done a wonderful job stitching it all together as if from continents of the world, then leaving a shiny gap, actually as a nod to a Japanese craft of mending ceramics when you celebrate the join with gold in the epoxy glue. There’s a name for it but I can’t remember it! Edit; it’s Kintsugi!
Eric said he was inspired to keep the song simple to just show the angst the world was experiencing, beginning to enter and deal with the pandemic, and the title and lyrics to demonstrate that we need to be gentle and kind to each other, much as we are on this website really. So lots of meaning behind it all. And the group set up on Facebook to support it all again is filled even now with kindness.
