Hi Cazzy () I apologise if you thought I was criticising you, I wasn't and didn't mean for it to come across like that. But your post worried me as you mentioned drinking and not being able to drink as much as you used too and it concerned me as I know you have mentioned being on strong meds!! Its up to you if you drink or not, but you will have effects from alcohol after just small doses, because you are on some strong pain meds!! So just be careful Hun! Sounds like your family have stocked up well for you!! ENJOY
How did you get on today?
Hope EVERYONE is having a good day! Xxxx

Well , we are just about out organised for when the family come on the 27th. Clutter moved to the sides so there is a way through, new purple door in the new kitchen, new plastered ceiling in the new bathroom, and some lights. Outside lights there, and DH has borrowed a table and chairs from the railway club. He has planted 500 bulbs. In the new flowerbeds, and the squirrels have been pulling them up and eating them, little b*****s!
We are by ourselves tomorrow and Thursday and will just chill.
Happy Christmas all!
Xxxxx.
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
I'd forgotten how stressful Christmas prep was as we went away last year.
Christmas Eve:
1. Stop teenage daughters arguing
2. Stop self arguing with older teenage daughter who thinks she runs the house now after 3 months at Uni
3. Go and collect ludicrously expensive raw vegan 12-piece cake from Patisserie Valerie between 12-2pm as this year daughter 1 is vegan and daughter 2 is veggie (apart from eating 10 chicken nuggets at sleepovers and barbeque chicken when at Belgos) and lactose intolerant (apart from chocolate)
4. Go to multiple M&S stores looking for a decent vegan Christmas dinner main for aforementioned daughters so that they don't argue with each other over home made vegan nut loaf. Limp into Sainsburys for batteries for Christmas lights as husband forgot.
5. Eat lunch at 5pm with Paclitaxel-destroyed legs up.
6. 6pm.Cook tofu stir fry and wonder how I'm going to survive a month of mostly vegan and veggie food, but at least I can close the fridge door now.
7. Tell the foxes they will have to wait until tomorrow for food as the pigs in blankets reduced in M&S from £5 to £1.49 and bought for them is going to be added to the turkey and chestnut and pork stuffing as extra meat on a day I'm eating it anyway, and they're only foxes (no, they're not!) so might like a bird ball instead!
8. Drink a beer while the rest of the family eat tofu stir fry (still full from lunch at 5pm) as my three blood tests in the last week have all said my liver function is fine, so I can have alcohol, especially since hearing that it can react with Letrozole (not started in the week I've had it due to PICC line removal pain) and very sore feet and ankles and it's Christmas. And the radiologist said that he didn't think I'd gain anything from radiotherapy (Now love him for saying it was OK despite only meeting him once....and his brother lives in Edinburgh)
9. Tea and a Christmas film with brandy soaked cake before staying up late to wrap presents bought over the last months, some of which may so so well hidden they are now lost.
Happy Christmas!!! xxx
as a mother of long-standing vegan it gets better. I had a recipe for vegan nut roast which wrapped in ready made pastry (accidentally vegan) made a good turkey alternative and tasty for non vegans on Boxing Day. Join local vegan group on Facebook - I order vegan chocolate log from local small baker based in SW valley £10! Vegan cakes can be frozen due to lack of dairy !!
When all else fails dried pasta and beans on toast are vegan!
