Hiya Londonmumof2
If you feel rough do give them a ring first thing and tell it how it is - J spent 3 days in hosp after getting an infection on Docetaxel and they delayed her next session by a week while her white cell count came back up; so it seems like a one week delay doesn't put you at risk.
If they still advise you to come in maybe you could ask about a reduced dose ?
Hugs, G n' J
Hi , WELCOME to the group. Sorry you find yourself here. I’m sorry no one was around when you posted and really hope you did manage to get back to sleep! Is it today you get results of biopsies? Or are you going in for your first trip to the breast unit? Whichever it is I wish you all the best. I promise you that whatever results you are going for once you have the all clear or the diagnosis you will feel a lot more in control. Sounds weird I know, however even if you are diagnosed being told what Lies ahead puts you back in control. Waiting for results is always the hardest part.
Sending Love and Hugs your way! Good Luck Hun and please come back on a let us know how you got on! Hopefully someone will be around next time! Typical it’s the one night that everyone seemed to sleep! Xxxxxxx
, Welcome to our friendly Awake group, we are here day and night and someone is always ready to listen, but for some reason it was a rare night when everyone seemed to sleep. We always have a laugh but we can help with the serious stuff too. Hope all goes well today xx
Londonmumof2.......I had to have 2 chemo doses delayed because my white cells were too low. As you know that was nearly four years ago. It's annoying but I don't think the delay is a problem....giving chemo if you are already under par is a bigger one.
At least tell them how you are feeling and ask what they think about an extra week.
Whatever you do, don't feel guilty that you feel unwell. These are such strong drugs. It's great that there are people who are barely affected but if you are not one of those.....it's not your fault. It's glib to say all bodies react differently but it's a fact. If you don't feel well...that's just how it is.
I have been reading the chemo club comments for a while, just in case I have something practical to add( nails, hair, mouth etc) and it has worried me for sometime that there is a feeling that you should be stoic and get on with ' normal' then guilt if that isn't happening. It doesn't matter if you feel awful and have to stay at home for three weeks or if you feel fine and are out and about after 24 hours. Don't spend the time in between waiting for side effects to start......deal with them when they arrive but again don't feel guilty if you don't get them. Each one of you are dealing with a disease which left untreated will probably kill you. How your body reacts is how it is.....Yes, support each other, offer advice but don't compare.
If you need a break ask for it and don't worry.....it will all be over in time, just take a little longer and you will have your life back. Lots of people find that they evaluate what is important afterwards and make changes but others find they can continue as before. Again these are personal choices.....no one should guilty if they feel they want to make changes. No one should worry if things stay the same.
I hope you make a decision today which is right for you....do it your way.......
Cyber hugs.
Love Karen
just wanted to say GOOD LUCK for today! I hope the procedure isn’t too unpleasant. Just keep reminding yourself of the end result..... which will hopefully be you being able to breathe more easily!
LP is already on his way.....
AND I believe he’s bringing with him a couple of his medical friends.
Dr G Pig and.......
Nurse Piglet, they are highly qualified and will ensure you get the best possible care.......or.........they will bite someone
Thinking of you Cathy. Xxxxxxxx
Hi Karen (Lacomtekp) Just a suggestion, but why don’t you copy and paste the post you just wrote, onto the Chemo thread?! I know it was meant for Londonmumof2 but I think others going through chemo would benefit from reading it and I’m not sure many of them come on here! It was a great post xxxx
Londonmumof2 I hope the Oncologist or Chemo unit is understanding and reassures you that there’s no problem with taking a break. Only YOU know your body and if you don’t feel up to it then that’s fine. In fact if you are harbouring some sort of bug, which could be a possibility they wouldn’t want you in the unit anyway! But if it is just general side effects then a week off will just allow your body a little extra time to sort itself out ready for the next blast!
I’m sorry you are feeling so rough, but keep reminding yourself If you feel bad, those Cancer cells will be feeling worse! Stay calm hun and relax. Put your feet up, watch some tv or a good box set, or listen to some music. Look after yourself. We are here if you need us! (((((((((HUGS)))))))) xxxx
Fruit loops there's been chatter about flu jabs over the last couple of days. I've already got flu!!! The guy who was supposed to do my tattoo today rang first thing to say he'd got it too and changed it to tomorrow

me too! xxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Sorry to hear that after all your partying your body has clearly had enough and that little bug snuck in! Can't imagine you are going to be well enough for a tattoo tomorrow!!?? Plus IF the tattooist also has flu I would hope he isn't back into work passing it on to others!
I've only had mild flu/ a very bad cold and that almost totally floored me for a few days. I recall being told at the time that of it had been full on flu I wouldn't of even wanted to lift my phone for at least 48hrs!! Very pleased I haven't experienced that!!
Hope you feel better soon Sue xxx
