Feel your pain. I had my eyes shut for about 30mins but sleep just Ali's the happening for me tonight/this morning...

Everyone else fast asleep, the dogs didn't even acknowledge my presence when I gave up and came downstairs, too busy getting their beauty sleep!

Don't know how autocorrect managed to get Ali's the from isn't- promise I'm not incoherent from lack of sleep!

  • Kenla210, it's great isn't it, the words that sometime replace the one you were typing! Have to admit though sometimes the word that is chosen to replace your actual word can prove quite funny!

On my mobile I have quite often text about seeing my Hospice Nurse! Now interestingly enough my phone doesn't recognise Hospice, so instead chooses HOSTILE....must admit the first time it did it I thought it wasn't far from the truth, but since I have had this nurse it couldn't be more wrong! Still made me giggle though! Xxxx

  • Well just wanted to say.........

Pic chosen especially for Gay, as I'm sure it's been a very long and emotional week. I hope once today is finished that you are able to relax and put your feet up! Hoping that your mum is doing okay.

Hoping today is a good day for all. Then let the weekend begin! Xxxxx

Happy Friday indeed lovely ladies! I am snuggled up on the sofa listening to music, full of opiate based pain relief and one drain less!!!

Jo - hope you are feeling better? Will you get home anytime soon?

wishing you all sleep and a cosy weekend xx

  • Just checking in ladies. We've made the big trip and are now safely ensconced in Surrey at my foster-daughter's place, busy trying to get over the jet lag.

Jo Jo - so sorry to hear you've got sepsis again. Did they give you Neulasta or Neupogen injections? Perhaps your onco will reduce the chemo dose as you don't want to have to go through this every round of treatment. Let's hope you get home soon.

Sal - hope your teeth are recovering well. How did you manage to keep any wisdom teeth till your 40s? Mine all went by the time I was about 22.

Everyone - have a great weekend, with plenty of sleep for all!

    Lynn xx

    Hi LondonLass,

I can't remember if I mentioned to you in one of my replies on the "Awake" topic about melatonin tablets. I used to go through weeks and months of not sleeping. Every time I mentioned it to my G.P, I was either prescribed amitriptyline, Nortriptyline or even Lorazepam.

I got fed up with other side-effects taking all those drugs to get some decent nights' sleep. So I did some research and found that as we get older and with cancer patients as well, our Pineal gland (controlling our circadian rhythm or our body clock), doesn't produce as much melatonin as we need for a good night sleep. So I put myself on melatonin 3mg and wow, I now get much Better nights, sleeping between 6-8hours...

Of course, that's my personal experience, I hope it was worth sharing, thank you for all your caring posts, keep posting!!!

Sending you lots of love & best wishes for better days & nights.

  • Hello all,

What a busy week! So glad I have made it to Friday. LL, hope your mouth is ok now.  Karen hope you still enjoying your time off, Jojo hope you feeling better soon. Lynn can you send some of that sunshine over to Wales cos it has been raining most of the day here!!!

Hmm anyone else tried these melatonin tablets? Might be an idea.

I am not sure what I have posted about my mum. They tested the lymph nodes after surgery and definitely no signs of any cancer, so pleased. She is still in hospital, probably till Monday, and is feeling pain now as they wean her off the epidural. Apparently surgeon told her a 5% chance of chemo - won't know for another week.

I don't know if my body is adjusting to letrozole. The hot flushes are not happening that often - it might be I am so busy I am not noticing them. BUT my bloody knees!!! Feel like I am 80 years old.

Going to unwind and have a couple of glasses of wine tonight :D.

    Cwtches to all,

    Gay xxx
