you will get lots of surprises on this  journey , some friends and usually the ones you least expect will prove to be angels , I have one particular angel , in the past we would meet up every three months or so but now it’s every week . She texts me to ask how I am , if I’m well , she would then phone and say she could pick me up in an hour or so and take me out . 

One friends who we have been away lovely weekends with did visit but no card and no flowers - not once in the year . She is very well off too . 

Then another friend sent me a lovely card and letter with Orkney fudge - she lives on Orkney - just meant so much that she went out and bought me the gift and wrapped it up and posted it to me. 

It may take a wee while for your angels to appear but they will . 

I have had lapsed friends ( gone different roads , children , work etc ) make contact with me and rekindled our friendships . Just takes time . 

I could drink tea and eat cakes everyday now ! 

So keep them updated and see what happens.Good luck tomorrow , you will be in good hands and start the New Year with surgery done and dusted .

Awww ....people just Don’t Think around Christmas and NewYear....I think they are in their own little bubbles...so understandable you feel so hurt.

and.....you have inspired me to rekindle old friendships!!.yes facetime is good for everything but the essential hug!!

and WhatHappened...such a lovely post! You are so right...you really do find out who your real friends are....xx..you get some total surprises in that field.you don’t know who your best friends are until you get your big knocks...totally sorts the sheep out from the goatsxx

Eeek Monday ! Been doing my jigsaw !!! Need to get up at 6.30 to get son organised for his train . Anyone got a rubber hammer to zonk me with !!

Well I appear to have one VERY excited little chap who is looking forward to spending some time with Auntie Anne ()! It's his first hospital visit since Christmas and he can't wait!

I've had a chat with him and told him to look after you and to snuggle up next to you and gentle touch your hand, just to remind you he's there as are all the Fruit Loops, we shall be thinking of you. 

Really hope your New Year starts with your surgery Done, Something else ticked off your list! 

Will be thinking of you my friend, hope all goes well and that you are back on the ward with a cuppa in your hand before you know it! I've sent a small box of chocolates along with LP as a little treat to see in the New Year. But I'm not sure they'll reach you in one piece as LP has been eyeing them up............we shall see.

Good Luck Hun. Slow deep breaths and think of us squeezing your hand! Love you and hope you start 2019 feeling pleased that the surgery is over. Sal xxxxx

Thanks so much to the lovely fruitloops who have sent me such kind words and I forgot all about asking you to send LP LondonLass so thank you for sending him to Manchester.i don’t have to be on the ward until 11.30 so he can have a little rest if he needs one as it’s going to be a long day waiting for afternoon surgery slot.have a good day everyone and thanks again X
