Hi Cathy I hope the bloods are ok !

I am still on Cape and will find out end of January how things are going.

My Oncologist has said that I don’t need to have  injections of Denosumab at present. Interestingly

there were 2 ladies having it at the. Secondary Breast Cancer Meeting that I attended yesterday who were taking it and had had problems with their jaws.

I have an eye test next week ( check) and a filling. Not really looking forward to the latter

Thanks for all the wishes lovely loops!

No chemo for me yesterday - bloods were okay but taking longer to recover to a decent level every cycle and although the bloods cultures had not grown anything, it was less than 24 hours since they were taken so there could still be nasties in there! As I was quite chesty yesterday, we decided to delay it a week just to make sure nothing is brewing. No big deal apart from yet another mess in my diary as all the appointments have changed!!!

    - ouch to all those cannulation attempts! I'm glad I don't have to do that any more, apart from CT scans! Hope you have a good day and manage to enjoy your meal out tonight!

    - that WAS a busy day yesterday - glad it all went well! Good luck with ENT today...

    - hope you got SOME sleep and are as ready as possible for the smear test today. It's never easy to relax when things have gone awry before, but fingers crossed that they'll get it down without too much stress.

    - hope the surgery went okay and that you are at home recovering. Take it easy!

    - glad you had a useful evening with regard to info on sleep - if you could get it sorted it would be good! I feel SO much better since having the oxygen at night! You seem to be doing really well on the Cape - how are the side effects now? Oh, and happy birthday to Pia - she's SO gorgeous!

    - thanks for the fireworks - stability is everything these days!

Today might be a day for napping - went out yesterday evening to the ballet - lovely evening, but I'm really not an 'evening out' person these days - you won't find me dancing the night away any more, watching other people do that tires me out enough!

I'm knitting ballet mice for next week's visit to Nutcracker - I've done Mouse King and Clara, but now have to tackle Uncle Drosselmeyer (or Drosselmouser), who has the most complicated costume in the show - that'll be my mental workout for today I think!

Oh, and a bit of positive news - they've FINALLY  worked out my pension (the process started in March (and I've had no money coming in since April) so my bank account should be looking much more healthy within the next few days - go NHS Pensions!!!

    Love and hugs to everyone!

Hi everyone haven’t been around lately as have been spending most of the time at the hospital.not for me,although I did manage to fit my pre-op in on the opposite side of the hospital.my sonwas messing around with his friends at their flat(26 years old, alcohol involved) he fell onto the back of a wooden chair and managed to damage his ribs or so we thought.the next morning ,Sunday,he was in agony so off to a&e we went.he had ruptured his spleen and was rapidly becoming dangerously ill.he had an emergency procedure where they went in through groin with wires and tied off the bleed.if successful and so far it seems to have worked he won’t need a complete splenectomy and need to be on antibiotics for life due to risk of infections.he is recovering quite well though still in a lot of pain and very uncomfortable when moving.hubby and I have barely left the hospital and have been very worried as you can imagine but hopefully everything has calmed down now and Matthew should be home in a day or so.

i have hardly seen my poor dad who I normally visit every other day but thankfully he is reasonably ok at the moment.

i hope everyone is doing ok .i won’t attempt to go through all the posts I’ve missed.hugs to all

  • Goodness what a lot for you and you're family to  go through .It shows how things can happen so quickly. I'm so glad he's doing ok now xxx

I'm doing ok impending mammogram looming but I'm trying to reclaim life more i feel I've given cancer two years of my life and it's enough. I also hear often in my head telling me at the moment I'm NED and I'm trying to accept that and push the fear away.

Families are a full time job!  My 15 year old has lots of issues plus depression it's hard some days to keep myself upbeat when she's not but I just have to

Look after your son I'm sure he's getting lots of TLC but please look after yourself maybe a mini meet in New Year again xx

Thanks @optimististic it’s the son who has mental health issues who is poorly do he is going to feel the world is against him again unfortunately.he has never really accepted being diabetic.diagnosed at age 20.he never goes to any appointments forfeet eyes etc which are vital for someone with diabetes and refuses to speak to drs, take medication or anything for his depression. ironically he has been feeling fairly good recently and then this had to happen!msybe it’s a good job my surgery for 3 December was cancelled as I think I am going to be very busy when he gets home and still have to see to dad.hubby has stayed off work this week so at least I’ve not had to cope on my own like I normally do but I’ll soon be back to  4 buses and 2/3 hour round trip to Dad’s as I don’t drive.still once Matthew is home st least I won’t be travelling to the hospital as well.pheeww

  • Oh it's such a lot for you xxx Do you know when he's likely to be home. Hopefully you'll get a peaceful Christmas. I'm sorry he has as all these issues so young it upsets me when my daughter struggles at 15 but at least they have us supporting them. Maybe he will have to look at his health issues a bit more now may make him stop and think a bit more  bless him.

Sorry your surgery was cancelled if you ever get chance I sent you a PM regarding your reconstruction if you get chance I wondered if you'd advise it xxxx

  • Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
