Well just back from my jelly eye scan, all good can’t see any sign of a tumour, he thinks it may just be a blemish, they will check again in a year, but he wasn’t worried at all.

LP behaved himself at first and ate his treats but wasn’t impressed there was no jelly and ice cream, I was in there for such a short time he never even had time to do a runner to find his nurse. I think he was one unhappy guinea pig, on his way back to you Sal, , hope he is in a better mood when he gets there.

  • Hi , went to my appointment. Just a chat . Tenderness normal and advised  to go to M&S to buy a non wired bra . Mammogram not until January. Strange how they didn’t do that pre appointment but who am I to argu . Went to M&S and bought a bra , ugly bra, lots of support but not pretty and no lift at all .... a bandage would look the same . I was looking at all the pretty post surgery ones but because I’m big chested the fitter thought it best to go for something else. Cried on the way home . I hate feeling sorry for mysel but it just felt so sad to wear something so unfeminine . It’s hard to keep your spirits up all the time and this little thing tipped me over again . I was also hoping to have tests today and then nothing for a year but not so .

Never mind . I’ll get over it , I’ve just got to get on with it really. Thank you all for your answers and support. You are a fabulous. .  Twinkle51 xx

    Hi Twinkle

    Sending hugs x

  • I used to wonder why they did the mammo before the check up(if I am understanding you right)and I think it is because they can look at the results while you are there, but I may be wrong. When I had mine last year I had to go on the train and I woke up a bit overwhelmed and cried off and they were ok with me having it on the same day as my appointment.

also I am sure so many of us understand the feeling of wanting feminine bras, they make you feel so much more like a woman after invasive and intrusive surgery.immediately after surgery they may want you to wear compression bras...but later when all healed up,there are companies who do nice mastectomy bras and pretty ones too...I will look one up for you..(Simply.Be and Figleaves I think)also, your breast cancer nurse may help with that.It was only after a year that I realised that and mine got me through ordering a couple of nice ones while I was there and after I was measured.Just a word of warning...during the sale they go like hotcakes so it may be worth stretching to just one if you can afford it,full price.....Hugs,Hi

PS...I shouldnt like to confuse the issue, but just to say,my breast cancer nurse measured my measurements as being different to M and S.I tended to trust her more to be honest...but dont rush back with them...that was just me and I may have put weight on or anything...as they were at a bit different times..xx

  • Violetsniff , thank you , thank you and thank you . Just the fact that you understand means so much . I felt really selfish and childish crying in the car ... it was not a pretty sight I can tell you . I’ll look on these sites straight away xx Twinkle51 xx

  • Hi , I don’t come on here often now, but just saw your post. There are lots of pretty bras with no underwires or even stiff moldings. I actually bought some bra sets that are very pretty colours and a lovely shape, but sort of plain (no lacy bits) from Next. They did a lovely peach and a dusky blue so I treated myself to both sets. They go up to an E cup and are soooo comfy. They give me the lift I need for my natural side and they look lovely. I also bought some Laura Ashley bras that are mega comfy, more like a bra with a body section below, all made from a t-shirt like material, but with molded cups to give you shape. As for getting upset, that is natural. You will feel pretty again, just give it time. Xxx

None of us wanted to be in this group, but we are glad we're not alone.
