.
I'm so very sorry to hear about your mum Gay. It must be a terrible shock, especially with everything still being raw for you. The only comfort is that, like BC, bowel cancer is very treatable. One step at a time of course - let's hope her scans deliver good news.
Now I'll just say what I say to everyone - look after yourself, as you'll be no use to your mum if you crash,
Big hugs
Hi, although I frequently end up in this group, mostly because like lots of you I find myself awake on and off most nights, I am supporting my husband who was diagnosed with bowel cancer March 2016. Don't fret too much  yet about your Mum. 1 appointment at a time.Â
I used to walk around like everything was fine, but deep down, inside my shoe, my sock was sliding off.
Now I walk around and everything is fine.....one day I am going to by new socks with strong elastic......but in the meantime I am learning to stop and and pull my sock up!
Hi Gay,Â
Sorry to hear about your mum. My mum has end stage COPD and she also kept some bad news about her condition from me due to my bc diagnosis. When she eventually told me we had a good cry together, loads of hugs and opened a bottle of her favourite sherry.Â
Sending hugs xxxx
Hi Gay, so glad to hear your first day back went well; kids tomorrow, so more good luck being sent your way. I am so sorry to hear about your Mum. You know exactly how each other feels though, which has got to help. Get her onto the forum, as we all know that it is a great source of support, companionship and giggles when you need them most. Send her our love and let us know how she gets on. Thinking of you.

None of us wanted to be in this group, but we are glad we're not alone.
Diagnosis 2/8/17 IDC Her2+, 22mm, with spread to several lymph nodes. TCHP chemo started 23/8/17, Mx with immediate, temp recon 24/1/18, rads 20/3 to 10/4/18, Herceptin by IV until Nov 18. RR Mx Jan 23. Still waiting for reconstruction, but opting for simple implants, as opposed to Diep, due to long waiting lists for diep.
Hi,
I just have to say thank you very much for all the lovely comments. They did make me cry - in a good way, because I was so touched. From the info that I have read, it seems very treatable if caught in time. So it is the dreaded waiting game, and we all know what that feels like. I am just in a state of shock.
It all seems very unfair, but as we all know since when was life ever fair? It happens to be my (late) sister's birthday today - she would have been 52. So I was ringing my mum as soon as I got back from work to make sure she was ok :(
So my intention tonight is to dig out a sleeping pill which I know I have, just try not to take them very often - so hopefully I can actually get to sleep. If not I think I will probably lie awake all night.
This looks like a sad bunny saying thanks...
Goodnight all,
Gay xxx
Hope everybody else had a good start to the week. LL did you make an appt? xx
