  • Well I’m back from my holiday. It was really nice! Great company and amazing weather! We were even able to spend a whole day sat out in the orchard on chairs and sun loungers enjoying a picnic on one of the days! Not something we expected to be doing in October!
We had a lovely (Early) Christmas Lunch one day and had a photographer come in to do some family photos on another day!
Other than that, we went for walks, played darts and pool/snooker, sat and talked but most of all laughed! Laughed more than I have laughed in years! It was lovely. Absolutely exhausting, but lovely!

Hope everyone on here has been behaving!! Will try and catch up with some post’s tomorrow but just wanted to say Hi and remind you all…..

Enjoy an extra hour in bed!

    Although I’m thinking…….

That would put me before diagnosis!! If only that were possible! But then I would never of met you all. A life without Fruit Loops would of been so dull!!

    Night night Everyone xxxxx

  • Good morning.....I hate this clock change!

When you get up early normally, it's hard to adapt immediately to the ' extra' hour. So I didn't waste it and I've washed the kitchen floor before anyone walks on it. My kitchen is in the middle of the house so if the floors wet.....someone, usually OH, wants to pass wearing shoes with dirty soles!

Today I have visitors. Sons one and three, popping in for a few days. One flying back from Portugal because , courtesy of Brexit, he needs paperwork renewed based on our address as his are always temporary. The other thought he would combine visit with seeing brother and a bonus for OH and me, will collect him from Bordeaux en route! So two extra bodies. I suspect I may disappear from here for a few days as I know I will be busy. This Brexit is a real nuisance at times. I do hope any of you who voted for it are reaping your advantages. I'm afraid we haven't benefitted...............luckily I have dual nationality but many of our friends have problems.

OH has an IRM on Tuesday. Unfortunately at 07.45 and as we live an hour from hospital and have to check in in a different block....it's going to be an early start.

Now for a coffee.......I am ready!

  • Hi

Sorry to read about your nerve pain. I felt I had to reply as I was concerned. In my case I had nerve pain in my arm which the physios I attended put down to surgery and radiotherapy. I had RT to my back and neck areas and have been told the pain I had was due to the tissues being damaged in my neck and shoulder causing the fascia to bind together. In turn the pain was not only in my shoulder with restricted movement but I had experienced shooting nerve pain down my arm. It took six months of intense physio for this to be better and now six months on its fine. It was approx two months after rads that this happened. So please keep doing the exercises and I would suggest you have physio treatment lined up. Do talk carefully to your team before starting radiotherapy. The medics were very reluctant to suggest it was caused by radiotherapy but the physios were sure of it.
Dontcwant to upset you but felt you should be aware.

  • Thank you for your reply . I have a telephone consultation tomorrow with my oncologist and without being rude will spell it out that  I have had no phisio session . Just  a book shoved in my hand about 2 hours before surgery .
    Don’t believe that’s good enough .

Also want to speak about the benefits of a week steroid plan to quieten down the nerves even more before my RT begins. My surgeon has said that the nerves were bruised during surgery so there is no element of doubt there .

Also the benefits of acupuncture . I believe some of the ladies on here may of had this as a treatment  so will asking about the possibility of that to .

Feel determined to get this sorted .  I cannot just go on with this pain and head into RT for 3 weeks .
My oncologist seems really nice so confident we can make some positive steps .

    Wish me luck !

    Have a lovely Sunday everyone
