  • You’ve definitely got the best of the weather, , it’s grey and cool here!

    Enjoy

Hubs has gone to our local hospital, probably very anaemic but also in atrial fibrillation, he has a pacemaker but just set for heart block, they will probably need the cardiac team to tweak it as well as probably giving him more blood. Thank goodness for that call by the hospice at home nurse!

  • More worry for you . As you say they can probably tweak it. Big hugs xxx

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

  • Had my first swim for 18/12 in the outdoor pool yesterday. Was great to be back. I felt much safer then last time as they seemed well organised with masks sanitisers and social distancing. My knee responded very well to the breast stroke kicks, and I wasn’t the slowest in the pool! I must build up my stamina though.

In the evening I saw an exhausted bee on the extension floor. I gave it some sugar solution on a spoon, it had some, and flew off. I was so pleased. I have tried this before and the bee didn’t respond.

    Love to all fruitloops xx

  • Well done , that’s great news! Good knee recovery then. Walking in a pool is great too.

I just spoke to a person in the team looking after hubs, he’s ‘doing ok’ complete bloods aren’t yet back but they’ve referred him through to the medical team who will mo doubt do the Cardiology referral. However he did say that yes, pacemakers can be tweaked for AF as well as block.

I feel reassured that he’s really in the right place now and hopefully I can doze in front of some trashy tv this afternoon!

  • He’s now just on a short stay ward that’s also assessment, ive just taken in his cancer drug plus the potassium powder as they are ones not stocked by the hospital normally. They said to phone in about half an hour to book a visit, and I’ve just cancelled his GP blood test which was tomorrow, will tell the ward what Oxford needs.

the lady in A&E reception was the one who found out I had to drive the new motor caravan for the first time when he got admitted in January and she remembered, and was so glad all was well!

  • Had my results. They got all the cancer out with surgery it was 17mm which seems small and must be oestrogen positive as they are now putting me on tamoxifen.  Appointment at the Christie to come in about 4 weeks for the radiotherapy stint. I'm glad all the cancer has gone but don't feel as overjoyed as I should mainly because I still ache a lot. I only looked at macmillan site re drug as trying not to Google anything but any good or bad info from those who have experience of it would be lovely. I know I'm lucky for it to have been caught early and to have been treated but I feel quite flat.

  • Oh that’s good, plus if you go to yhe Christie that’s an amazing hospital, definitely saved our daughters life! (Info on my profile)

Well I managed to sneak in to see hubs to take his meds and walking sticks and he is already much better, I’m beginning to think the immunotherapy is working as his potassium is down to the lowest end (that might be the reason for the fast AF?) of normal but they’ve just put him on a magnesium drip, they will get him a pressure relief mattress for night time, he’s now changed into a gown. He’s lots brighter (the breathing was a morphine o/d so he’s now noticing more spinal pain)
