I'm loving the flower photos. My peonies finished flowering over a week ago. But the roses are prolific this year.

Just got back from a training walk for the Mighty Hike.  12k today, so I'm over half way now.

Passed a vineyard on the way. Who knew there was one hidden away in the fields beyond the next village?

  • I'm OK - thanks. Clinic appt this afternoon. Been having trouble with right arm, but doing the exercises. When I first wake up it really aches, then improves during the day. Hoping as time goes on better mobility with it.

  • Hahaha, , was the reality anywhere near your ideas?
Thinking of everyone who has any appointments today and tomorrow, hoping all goes well.

  • Back from the GP clutching the prescription for next scan which we think is CT but we can't read doctor's writing and I know an MRI is IRM in French but not sure whether CT is different. It appears to start with T but that could be I in Dr V' 's script. Simply, I forgot to ask! The reason is probably stones .....radiologist wasn't sure or on how many or what size, hence more investigation. The best news was the fact the doctor has been trying to help me explain why, despite following ww without cheating for nearly six months, I put on weight rapidly then can't lose it but he's found one of my pills may be blocking weight loss....As you know I walk when I can and garden a lot so I'm not seditary although I don't actually do exercises....so we are stoppibg the pill.

OH is doing well with the new patch pump. I'm so pleased for him if it works permanently. For the first time I had to place it so I had to carefully follow the hand set's instructions but it was so clear. I felt really confident. The nurse wanted OH to try it on his back because normally he hasn't been able to inject or place a cannula there so the skin was untouched. He can do his own on stomach, arm or leg. Anyway, it makes a change from cancer treatments and this is a definitive cure!( or replacement anyway)

Hope all goes well. Loving the flowers and vine yards. I have grapes in my garden. Not for wine but they are delicious, straight from the vine in August/ September. Well done on the training . We are with you in spirit. Did you reach your target fund raising yet?

    1. I

  • Oh , glad it doesn’t seem much more serious than that? Kidney or gall, I wonder? I hope the med that you’re stopping isn’t an essential one….and that it helps you to reach your optimal weight. OH’s insulin pump sounds impressive, I gather he’s a type 1?

We have now stripped the stairs so it’s ready for our decorator tomorrow, hubs was able to do some of the tough work, we had a redundant alarm and it had hidden screws, one of which I simply couldn’t shift, thankfully he managed it. He’s feeling quite a lot stronger today and isn’t nearly as sleepy.

To my dearest luvly jubly new friends . So sorry not replying to all the feed back of which I find helpful.. I’ve been poorly this week.. I called my local doctor as I woke with my hands shaking and weak legs. I thought I was having a mini breakdown. Doc ordered urgent bloods. They came back today.

iI was in town when she called me . I was so sick of being in the house I thought I’d jump the bus to have a coffee and buy new shoes to cover my awful toes at the moment. I had to come straight home I felt really ill and legs felt fragile.

Doc was worried . High liver count and white blood cell count. She thinks I may have infection. ? 6th chemo tomorrow. Will they stop me having treatment? Why are bloods so off for first time? Why can’t I walk without my legs wanting to give way? Any feedback would be most helpful please x I do read your messages .. I find you all to be the best warriors in the world. Loads of hugs Nelly xxxxxxx

    My favourite pic xx

  • Oh dear, , so sorry you’ve been feeling so unwell, but at least you’ve an answer as to why! As to what they will do about your treatment, I’m sorry I really am not sure, but I guess they will want you onto antibiotics swiftly. Delaying chemo is always a possibility and my guess is it wouldn’t need to be for long. I hope you’ll get an answer very soon. Do you have a central line like a PICC? As there’s always a (slim) chance that could be an infection risk, they will surely be very careful and observe you if they flush it.

Keep an eye on your temperature, the unit should have given you a number to use as a ‘high’ and told you to phone in if it gets that high or near, even if you’re going tomorrow, if your temp is high then please don’t delay phoning in.,,,..

Hoping things are straightforward and they help you feel better very soon. By the way, do pop a bit of info onto your profile, it doesn’t have to be much but it does help people like me who don’t know quite what you’re going through (apart from I assume bc!). Click on your user name, then on edit my profile and type away, then when you’ve done, click on save and you’re done! Mine is long as my family are onto our third cancer since I joined the site!
