  • So I slept last night - 7 hours with the aid of a sleeping tablet but it was great to wake up and know that I’ve had a good night.

the consultation went really well and because of where my lump is they have said reconstruction will be the best option and booked me in for 25th February. The the rest of the treatment begins afterwards.

you guys have certainly kept me going - thank you all and I am certainly going to be looking at mindfulness

  • Good morning  I was pleased to read that you had had a good night's sleep and also felt encouraged by your consultation. I think most people relax a bit once there is a plan to tick off. Sometimes it seems as if it will go on forever but time does pass. It's ten years since my BC and fortunately, it has stayed clear. I have this year's mammogram next week.....a few weeks late as we went away for the winter but I think all is still ok though it's good to know definitely.

Now I hope you continue sleeping and that all goes well on the 25th.

We will be thinking about you and still be here for you to chat to throughout your treatment and beyond.

    Take care. Love Karen

  • Hi Whathappened.  Too much Fairy Dust is making you so sleepy.  Yes we could see the Northern Lights with the naked eye.  Last time we went we could only see them through the camera.  This time it was magnificent just looking at them no camera needed.  It was so cold we were on a hill and you had to take gloves off to take pictures brrr it was cold but so worth it.

  • Morning all! I hope everyone slept well? After a restless night on Friday, I spent like a log last night and have woken up with a cold Sob

Just lots of love and hugs, you’ve had so much on your plate in recent years and I’m sorry you’re feeling the stress and worry you are having Heart️ ️   in Finland you could see them with the naked eye, it was incredible, they do dance across the sky, like smoke tendrils, they were of course much much more vivid through the phone camera but just up there with the eye too.   we were told the bears were out there, but sadly no I didn’t see any.

I’m on half term now, delighted the cold waited until I broke up See no evil I have a question for you all, given we fruit loops are scattered across the country! Next year I have to sell my house in Bucks and move elsewhere (divorce agreement) I can’t afford to stay in the area, I have no real ties elsewhere, possibly other than Bedford as I used to live there and still go regularly to see friends but don’t really want to go backwards so don’t want to go there. I was thinking Worcester as it has nice houses in my price range, no more than £360,000, some vibrancy about it if my daughter moves back after uni, a reasonable size so I can find work and still easy to get to my parents in Dorset. But do any of you have any places that you know of that you’d recommend for a new start? Let me now!

my daughter was 4 the first time I had breast cancer and 11/12 the second (16) now. The first time I told her I had a naughty lump that might make me really ill and had to go and the radiotherapy was extra medicine to keep it away, she seemed happy with this explanation and asked few questions. The second time I told her everything, apart from the aggressive nature of the particular cancer, it helped her stress levels knowing she knew everything and that she was fully informed. Having children in the mix adds a different dimension to deal with Heart️ x

lots of love to you all xHeart️x

  • Oh and   congrats on getting that pic line out and finishing chemo Tada putting my shoulders under the bath water afterwards was a small pleasure I can still see in my head now! And it’s another step on the way to full health again xx

  •   daughter is busy house hunting locally to me at present, has put in an offer on one which will need a lot of work to get it to what she wants, thankfully a good friend locally has done this a few times and introduced daughter to her builders. Let’s hope that sale goes through, it’s five minutes walking distance from me!

  • Thank you so much!  It does help as my 4 year old hasn’t comprehended anything but if I start to look different that’s when it will become scary for her.  I might pinch your phrases as it is easy for them to understand.

villages around Bedford are nice but I also understand the break away!

  • My grandchildren range from 6 to 10. All girls. We told them everything in simple terms. They've all been careful with the PIC line. I've not been available for running hugs just cuddles. The 7 year old has been particularly curious and has found the photos I took of the nurses sorting the drips and the room  fascinating. She's also insisted on checking for hair regrowth removing my scarf and rubbing my head. Reassuring me it will grow again. However when I suggested I cut her hair to make me a wig she considered a moment then said

" I do love you Grandma, but not that much! " It's nice to know your place in the world.

All four are delighted the line is out because now we can go swimming again.

Children are very resilient I find as long as they know what is going on. As we all know they are usually honest. At times painfully so and that's really what we have to be in return.

My heart goes out to you at this time. Love and hugs. They won't be as healing though as those from a child who lives you.

Three times! What did I do?
