Yay for 1100!!

LP is on his way home, he is very tired and should sleep well. I think he may have been chatting with the helper dog who was with his Para archer dad. There were a few yips and barks from that end of the hall 

No medals for me today sadly. Finished 4th, but with PB and county record. A number of issues that need some work.

No more competitions until April, so plenty of time.

Time for tea ......

LP arrived home absolutely exhausted. Full of stories about his day! He didn’t even have energy to wash tonight......

toxophilite, I wanted to Congratulations on you results, brilliant work!!! This style seems to be suiting you, 4th is great and a Personal Best is fantastic.  The bonus is you say you can work on some of the issues, this is excellent.  Very Well Done.

LondonLass, I hope you are okay and enjoying your swimming.  Sleep well and get some much needed rest.

Hello Everyone

Well, on the 22nd I had the results of the CT scan with my Oncologist. I went with a friend for moral support and tried to read the Oncologist’s face without success! My friend said he had a good face for poker!

It’s good news was his greeting. What’s the bad news ? was  my reply :-) There isn’t any ..... he said. 

To summarise: The Capecitabine oral chemo tablets are continuing to do their work.. after one year and I’m to continue on  them. 

The CT scan also indicates a decrease in lung blood clots, so  I’m to continue on the daily Tinzaparin injections for 6m, then I may go onto tablets instead:-) 

My friend expected me to be elated at the news, but I felt like that it wasn’t true in some way! 

To celebrate I treated my friend and me to a lovely meal. I even had one glass of champagne .  Then I committed the classic faux pas ( Dohh), and ate the salad garnish on the plate ( unwashed). Returned home and had violent vomiting and diarrhoea for 3 hours !

The DN cheerfully told me that as my immune system is compromised that is why the reaction was so bad! Then she stuck in the daily injection.

I saw the Macmillan Counsellor today, who let me know that my reaction to the results on Friday morning, was quite usual and it would take me a while to process the information. 

This was reassuring to me as I couldn’t understand why I didn’t feel more relieved at the news.
