Moomy
Thanks moomy It was a quiet day, after going for bloods, we went to collect my sisters dog and went out for coffee.
Then just an afternoon opening some lovely cards and presents. Then my sister and Bro in Law came over for takeaway.
Will hopefully go out with my sister again for the day on Saturday, perhaps have lunch out and do some shopping. Although have to find somewhere quiet, as neutrophils are still low. Hence NOT having treatment again tomorrow!
Onco had suggested doing the treatment every 5 wks instead of 4wkly. However it’s looking like it might need to be every 6wkly as my bloods are taking so long to improve!
Must admit it does worry me that for 2wks each cycle I don’t have much of an immune system!
I have started becoming VERY aware of people coughing and spluttering around me! It’s making me anxious about going out BUT I don’t want to spend my life keeping away from others! It’s so stressful.
Funny thing is when I was on Chemo back in 2013 and working as a Nanny. I just got on with it. Ended up in A&E once with a temperature! But it just feels different now, I suppose the fact I know I’ll be on this for as long as it works, makes it harder. Last thing I want is to be in hospital with an infection and them deciding I can’t keep going with the treatment!!
Hope you are coping okay with your treatment Helen and anyone else who is also on the long term or short term treatment path!
Sending love to all the Fruit Loops. Sal xxx
Oh and I know what I was going to ask! Is there anyone else on here who can only have bloods drawn from the one arm? If so do you have one vein that they constantly use or do they change each time?
I only ask because I have rubbish veins in my right arm and they go into the same vein each time. I have noticed that I’m starting to get pain in that arm and a weird feeling like a trapped nerve, especially for the hour following a blood test! Do you think I could ask them if they could try and find a different vein? Or do I just grin and bear it? Xxx
hello,
I would just let them know about the pain, it may just need a rest. do you mean rubbish veins in your right and they always use your left? they might just be quite deep on the other arm. Ask if they can try a heat pad to bring your veins up on the other arm to see if it helps.x
