.
Well you were not the only person crying LondonLass because I fell out with my daughter.
The miserable tale is we went to the pictures on Sat with my Grandson aged 7 he behaved appallingly, she is always miserable and openly bored when with me. So I rang on Christmas Eve to say I would rather stay at my own house on Christmas Day. Well she text me all day, I apparently am the worse person in the world, selfish wicked and mad need to see a doctor etc.
This daughter is the one I babysit for getting up at 6am to drive over wild moors. Apparently she has bent over backwards to accommodate me and I'm not grateful? ??
So I was crying, anyway I went to a service BF came over for Chicken and we had a walk and my brother rang from Canada. Seeing another daughter today good job I have a spare. Think they take it in turns to fall out with me.
Helen (Snowys Mum) I am sorry to hear you fell out with your daughter. Sadly I have no wise words to offer. But I can offer you.....
A reminder that I know how you feel and will always be here for you! Xxxxxx
Oh my Goodness,@SnowysMum...(sorry wont tag)...I am so sorry for your day.But you have been enormoisly brave.Sometimes I think we get to a point where we are tired of hiding things and just have to come out and be honest...
I for one, decided to be late (by 2 hours, calling my friend in the meantime)just so that I could spend less time, but “quality time”with rels.I thought I was being everso brave.
However, before the day was out,one had come home after I had carefully planned a childrens film we coukd ALL watch,(I know its not my house but noone minded,or were on their IPHONE....and it takes me forever to work out how to be tactful etc,and had to get little nephew to find the prog as technology and me are not best friends...and the adult was on his IPHONE...sorry did I say that...this other older adult ,came in,sat down picked up the remote, changed programme, and said,”who wants to watch the Racing?”.He then stretched out across the room and fell asleep!!I escaped into the kitchen. You know Grimms fairy tales?well there really is a big giant.
Anyway...so everything petered out after that,I spent a little time with Grandma, then made my excuses and left.
I think you would be surprised at how many dysfunctional families there are out there...and how many women hold them together!!
men really have no idea...!!!!
just a little addendum...When I went to Counselling earlier in the year,my counsellor told me her family weren’t speaking;or were variously unfriendly with each other...I know it sounds strange...but it was the one thing which really helped me because I realised I wasn’t the only one and there are many)xxx
Rant over !!xx
Ooooo can I be Riff Raff please ?
Snowys Mum, bless you , how awful. In my experience the more you give the less you are appreciated. Well just to say , we appreciate you 100% . Just take care and I’m giving you a massive hug xx Twinkle51 xx
The best advice given to me was “ take it one step at a time” . Twinkle51 xx
Hi Violetsniff and Snowysmum
After our church nativity play the minister said a blessing that we would all have a much loved Christmas with family and friends even if some of us were HAVING to spend Christmas Day with people through family loyalty , and that we got through the day peacefully !!!! Says it all that we need to pray before we join our families
love
