  • Hi Violetsniff

well I got the courage to go to church this morning - was too frightened before incase I cried too much , first Christmas since diagnosis and also my mum dying in April .

Good friends greeted me and sat beside me - well ! The nativity was magic ! Mainly adults as unfortunately not a lot of children go to Sunday school now . So mainly adults , 3 child angels , one child shepherd plus one teanager multi tasking shepherd / baby Jesus !!! It was a modern take , with the innkeepers wife recalling the birth of Jesus as she had written the events in her diary . All the songs/hymns were new and upbeat and easy to sing . Many many laughs especially with the baby Jesus being taller than Mary !! But it was his mum and dad and he dutifully curled up and sat across their laps !

At the end the organist played hark the herald angels and fair gave it “laldie “ roof nearly came off church !!! Had a wee tear .

Then we had coffee and shortbread .

Came home and my phone rang - I won a bracelet , I had bought a ticket and the proceeds of the raffle goes to a charity of my choice , Maggies Dundee ,

soo happy after a week when at a funeral my step sister and brother totally ignored me as my mum had left me her flat - I’ve been her sole comforter and carer for over 20 years and before that helped her care for my step father . They said they were due a quarter !!! My mum actually gave me her flat 10 years ago but I always expected to have to sell it to pay for her care . Once it’s sold my sons will benefit , just as their grandpa and granny would have wished . My step sister phoned me a week after  my mums funeral and 10 days after my first chemo !! Asking about it !

Well I went to church to worship my god theirs is obviously money .

    That’s my bracelet

    Hello everyone,

I caught up on sleep a bit, the District Nurse has been ( injection in tum). She called at house next door, I wondered why she rang to check that I was in, then a LONG delay Blush

So went down 50 odd stairs to show her up to my flat which is one flat down from top of building ( no lift Blush).

“How do you get up and down stairs ?” She says ( in her 30’s), “ I do because I’m supposed to keep up the gentle exercise I replied “ Blush ie white blood cells.

So will see DN’s over Christmas in addition to Pia ( diva) Cat Smile cat

I am getting over cold so no metallic taste in mouth from flu vaccine as not much sense of taste at present Rolling eyes

Hope everyone is keeping as well as expected? I’m off to Boots for prescriptions and last minute food, before the great rush shopping tomorrow from the last minuters.

I saw on FB for the local Macmillan Horizon Centre that  Nestle has donated free hampers for patients,  so I may pop along tomorrow and see what’s there. It is something to do at a time of not usual routines!
