Happy 8th birthday LP also congratulations and thanks to you Sal for starting this thread x
Good to hear from you Northerner , was wondering how you are? Yes honestly my birthday was indeed in 1945! Just after the end of the war….WW2 separated my big brother and me, he was born in 1937 and still doing ok though a little more clumsy than he used to be, apparently.
Night night Fruit Loops, sleep well and stay safe, plenty of sleepy fairy dust for all who wish

I wish .Wide awake it's now 2am have been in bed since 10.pm tired but can't sleep .Think it might have something to do with taking steroid tablets after 2pm I forgot and took it at 4 !! 5 th round of chemo tomorrow so probably worried about the side effects as they were horrid last time completely knocked me off my feet for 9 days !!
So up with a cup of hot chocolate chocolate biscuit even though they taste bitter .
Hopefully I will get some sleep before apt at 9 am .
Night night lovely people one step at a time it's a bloody hard journey but we will over come xx
Flossyknicks.... I hope all goes well today. I can empathise as chemo didn't suit me either and I wasn't well but I just wanted to say that my chemo was nine years ago and since then all my mammograms have been clear so that might help reassure you if you have difficult and unpleasant days ahead next week.
P.S. Don't forget to remind the chemo unit how unwell you were last time. It may be possible to reduce the dose......
Thinking of you. Karen
My oncologist prescribed me some lorazepam to get me through the night before and the first night after chemo. Too late for this cycle but tell them how you feel.
The anticipation before the treatment is horrible but it does end.
Hope everything goes smoothly today.

Will be thinking of you Flossyknicks , and yes, steroids really can do that! I once had an allergic reaction to clarythromycin (never can take it now) and had steroids I/v and didn’t get a wink of sleep for almost 48 hours. But it passed….

Good luck Flossyknicks for today, fingers crossed everything goes well. Just think you will be able to cross one more off.

Hi moomy I’m fine just tired after a year of infections including covid , then RVS. Followed with repeated uti because of antibiotics . Had all jabs now so hopefully things will settle down .
Feel like if not one thing then another remember I had problems with big toe nails after chemo well I finally gave up and had them removed last week …..won’t be doing any marathons soon low bone density showing up on X-rays so waiting for Dexa scan . This getting older iis fun !
Hope all is well with you now ..are you still making full use of your van ? We still have van in Cumbria but use train more now to get there as OH doesn’t want to drive as much .
Will try to catch up a little and post more again keep well xx
I’m coping on Abemaciclib and Exemestane though not easily, Northerner , fingernails are rubbish (that’s the A) and feet and ankles ache and feel strange, give me cramps, (that’s the E) but at least now I’m on reduced dose of the A my brain seems to function a bit more normally. Got to keep going, really, no choice! but yes, getting older isn’t that much fun…..the alternative isn’t much fun either!
oh, yes, making much better use of the van this year, 3 weeks in Yorkshire in April, off for a shortish break in the Cotswolds with all family in a couple of days and then a Danube cruise in June/July courtesy of my big brother!
Night night Fruit Loops, sleep well and stay safe, plenty of sleepy fairy dust for all who wish
