Hello, my daughter is about to start radiotherapy for ganglioglioma slow growing. I am very new to all this and hoping to find some support here. We are from UK living in Cyprus now. I hope it's ok for me to be on this Forum.

  • HI Ribbit

a warm welcome to the online community. Of course its ok to be here. We're glad you found us.

Sorry to hear about your daughter's diagnosis. Ganglioglioma is not a tumour that I am personally familiar with so I took the liberty of looking up some generic information-

Ganglioglioma (GGL) | Brain Tumour Research

Any cancer diagnosis is scary. I supported my late husband through the 3 years of his brain tumour journey and I remember only too well how scared and lost I felt at the start of that journey. That's how I found this forum and the support I received on here over the years was incredible.

G had radiotherapy as part of his treatment and coped really well with it. His only real side effect was fatigue. He only lost a small line of hair around the area that the medical team targeted and it grew back really quickly once the treatment stopped. Here's some generic info from the main website about Radiotherapy - Radiotherapy | Types of treatment | Macmillan Cancer Support
