Hi Everyone, my Husband Paul was diagnosed wit’s Glioblastoma on 23/04/25 - we were advised that he has a ‘few months’ and that ‘there is no gking back from this’ we were told MDT would meet and we would receive a follow up appointment. After waiting what seemed like a lifetime we received a phone call to advise an appointment had been scheduled for 07/05/25 with the Consultant Oncologist. Paul was advised due to the location of the tumour they would not be able to operate but could have three weeks of radiotherapy. Paul was subsequently fitted for a mask on 10/05/25 and treatment was to start 19/05/25. Paul started to deteriorate and stopped eating and drinking a few days later. We got him into hospital as an emergency on 13/05/25 and while there he took a seizure during the night due to a midline shift in the brain which was caused by increase in tumour separating the two hemispheres and pressing down into the brain stem/spine. As a result he was admitted to the cancer unit and started the radiotherapy 4 days earlier than planned on 15/05/25. Paul had a left sided weakness could not tie his shoelaces or zip up his jacket! After three weeks though he managed to come home and has the use of his left side again. We are at home now and have been trying to get into a routine of new daily life for the past five weeks. Paul’s cognitive function is affected he has insomnia and he has problems with short term memory. It has been a rollercoaster of a ride so far.
