Hi I’ve just signed up to this brilliant forum & very interested in peoples views on this illness in its unfortunate many forms. I haven’t been effected myself, thankfully, but I’ve recently lost my mam in April to an aggressive brain tumour & to be totally honest… it was absolutely horrendous watching her slowly die especially as the disease progressed & became totally unaware of how bad she looked- going from a fit & VERY healthy woman in her 70’s to a person who just lost her way in life. During this time I was supporting my wife with cancer for the second time whilst recovering myself from a major operation. Just wondering if there’s anyone out there with maybe a similar story & how you got through day to day ? I found unbearably tough & feel I can talk about it now so anything would help.
Thank you for reading my story
Hi Here to talk
a warm welcome to the group and thank you for sharing your story.
I'm supporting my husband with his stage 4 brain tumour journey and you're right it is horrendous watching on helplessly. I've shared my story within the (+) Community News Blog - Macmillan Online Community. Here's the link to my blog post :

In my own humble opinion there is no right or wrong way to get through the day... you just do your best. I'm glad to say my track record of getting through the rough days is still 100%.
I'm sure others will be along soon to share their tales. This group is a really safe and supportive space so please reach out anytime. Remember you can always call the MacMillan Helpline too. The number is below.
Please take care.
love n hugs
