Hi, I had a large right sided Craniectomy operation in December 2023 and still awaiting Cranioplasty, I am looking to go on holiday some time this year but haven’t flown yet since having the Craniectomy. Wondering if there is anyone that has been on a plane prior to cranioplasty that can give me some advice on how it was. Thanks
HI TW1999
a warm welcome to the group. Sorry to hear about all that you have been through.
I don't believe that there are any hard and fast rules but your neurosurgeon is the best person to advise on this subjects as they are closest to the overall medical picture here.
My late husband had a craniotomy in Sept 2020 and I think, largely due to Covid restrictions on travel, it was 2022 before he was on a plane but he had no issues flying.
This is a safe and supportive space so I am confident that some of the others will be along shortly to share their personal experiences.
