Some of the prescribed medication can impact that. TMZ being one of them. But if taking the tablets means it prolongs life then that's a price worth paying. There are other ways to be intimate. Experiment. Play.

I was told by my oncologist that sex and even kissing were off the table when I was on treatment (I’m single tho so it’s not a problem)

the type of chemotherapy I have can be passed through body fluids so it would be too risky for the other person 

It would be worth checking with the oncologist 

they might be able to help with any fears and suggest alternatives
