New and worried - waiting for scan after seizures

Hello. And what a great service and site thank you.

im not sure what to ask which I guess isn’t unusual. Mid Feb 2026 I had 1st seizure. No history of injury, tea-total, no infection etc. I’m a retired dual regd nurse (rgn/rmn) so have some knowledge. Seizures had lessened. I don’t lose, consciousness now and less severe following meds and am seeing a neurologist, MRIs show some enhanced contrast areas and I await a general body scan to assess for secondary factors? no-ones mention cancer but of course it’s on my mind . I was interested if anyone else is in this limbo phase? Thanks

  • Hi, also got a medical background, but for me I had a stroke 2 weeks ago and a tumor came up on a follow up MRI.  Waiting for an update from neuro-oncology next week.  Absolutely no idea where i am at right now.  Want to chat?

  • Really hope that you are OK

  • Sure. Happy to chat

  • Hi Duncan

welcome to the online community. Thanks for sharing your journey so far. The in limbo phase is one of the toughest to process as your mind tends run away with you especially you you are consulting "Dr Google". Steer clear of him. He's a scary dude!  Focus on the facts that you know and the next step in the journey. Hopefully you don't need to wait too long for the next scan to give a clear picture of what's going on.
