Care Oncology Protocol

Has anyone tried the Care Oncology Protocol through their clinic in London? I have recently been diagnosed with a GBM, had surgery before Christmas and am currently in the middle of radiotherapy and chemo. I’m just desperate to do everything I can to improve my outcome and wonder if anyone has had success using the Care Oncology Protocol. It’s a private clinic and would involve extra medication as well as NHS standard of care. I’m meeting with my NHS consultant to discuss it Monday. It’s not extortionately expensive (relative to most private healthcare!) but I just wondered if anyone had any experience of it. Thanks very much for reading and best wishes to all on this forum with your own challenges.

  • Hi CLH

welcome to the group. So sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I hope you are coping ok with the RT and chemo.

I am supporting my husband through his GBM4 journey and I remember his 6 weeks of RT and chemo. He coped really well with it but fatigue did hit around week 4.

We don't live in the London area so personally I am unfamiliar with the protocol you are asking about. However, this is very supportive group as is the sister group Glioblastoma multiforme brain tumour - Macmillan Online Community so hopefully someone will be able to offer you some words of wisdom from their personal experience.

For now though, I'm sending you a huge virtual hug and lots of positive healing light. Stay strong.

    love n hugs

    Wee me xx
