Hi all,
I hope you are all well or getting better, I appreciate for some it may not feel like this, so hoping for hope .
My story :Bloods BP June 24, colonoscopy 1 week later , 2 more weeks and MRI and CT scan, 10 days later diagnosed sesamoid colon cancer and operated 4 days later. Post op biopsy lymph 4/18 removed as infected, further histology biopsy for CTdna to be part of a biontech vaccine study...clear of CTdna so I could not take part.
11/13 rounds of adjuvant chemo every other weekend for 48 hours on the bottle ( Oxy and Cisplaitin) then reduced to 80% chemo round 2 and oxy removed completely round 10 as I developed CIPN, chemo induced peripheral neuropathy...number 11 , full 100% cisplatin...All backed up with 3 injections of filgrastim (GCSF) to boost my immune system. That's all for context...but
I had a scan and consultation with bloods to check my testes due to lumps 4 weeks ago...all clear but bloods, in particular alpha feto protein, were high and of concern to the pharmacist who checked my supplements and suggested to stop turmeric with black pepper. That was done but bloods have come back even worse. None of the constituents of the Full bloods count (fbc) are of a concern only the AFP.
I thought maybe the new 100% cisplatin or the GCSF were maybe causing the elevated levels. The AFP is linked as a liver cancer marker...any thoughts anyone or experiences?
Consultation and scan results are wednesday and anxious as hell...
since this began I have given up booze, red meat, UPf, sugars and filter water extensively and have two air purifiers... and take a shed load of supplements { pharmacy have ok d the supplements.) and have LwYs been a gym attendee and back in the gym within a couple of months on non chemo weeks.
Thoughts or views anyone?
Hi jayjay101
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
Wishing you all the best with your consultation and results tomorrow.
hi Karen,
the scan results hadn't come through so the consultation was a bit of a reassurance fest on Wednesday and the consultant hoped that Thursday they would come through and be discussed amongst the multi disciplinary team (MDT).
Thursday at 5.45 pm I received a call that I am all clear and that there's no tumours anywhere in my body... it was a moment of relief and elevation before thinking of those that I have met at the cancer unit, those devastating experiences for others that I have read on here and a reminder that life is terminal.Use it or lose it.
Today I woke and do not have to attend chemo as it's been put back whilst my liver bloods and an MRI scan is booked....but most of all relieved that I can plan for a week ahead with my clients ( I am a relationship and psychosexual therapist and integrative counsellor) and that I won't be so sick with chemo that I need to prepare foods, toilet breaks and the invariable sweats, aches and pains of the chemo after party..
I contacted my ex to reassure her and enquire as to her brother who has the same cancer and chemo regime...he died on the 4th of Feb...my joy was short lived...I f__king hate cancer...and will continually support science and pray to God that the vaccines proposed and various researches have more breakthroughs to destroy this dis-ease...x
