This is a harder post but part of life .
Mum has been battling new challenges and at the same time so has my dad . Mum had a gastric bleed which she was fortunate to recover from and at the same time dad had a cerebral bleed two days apart .
Both are very sick . Whilst mum has been here they have found some lymph nodes , a lung nodule and ascites . The ascites more probably from low protein . This has caused a battery of assessments as you can imagine before the information is through .
Dad has had a dense stroke . We have been called twice to sit with him through the night but he is still here .
One day at a time , one scary test at a time and best foot forward .

I’ve just been reading through more recent posts. I’m so very sorry to hear that you’ve lost your dad. I do hope that you and your mum are coping as well as can be expected. I’m just about to visit with my parents after 6 months. We don’t live close. I can’t imagine how you’re both feeling. I’m sorry if my comment is clumsy. I’m having a very emotional time at the minute. Sending you lots of hugs.
Oh it’s not clumsy at all .
I hope you have a lovely with your parents . You have been through a lot since you last saw them so hold onto the precious time together and enjoy .
I am sorry you are having an emotional time . Sometimes it’s after things calm a bit that the emotions spring to the surface .
You have done incredibly well . I quickly read your recent posts and see you had an additional tumour . That is quite common in the liver but they can sometimes group as one from what I remember from my mum .
The main thing it’s resected and gone .
We are coping . I found the last three weeks in hospital extremely hard . I hated it for him . I knew he was so unwell and could not do much to help change that .
Our task tomorrow is to arrange hampers for the different wards . They were amazing .

I am glad I did . I was just speaking to a friend today and one point we talked about was the impact of covid on people who had health challenges over that period . It was horrendous for you having to face a lockdown when you were just recovering .
I am so glad you gave the helpline a call . Getting the opportunity to address some of this can only be a good thing and positive in itself .
You take special care ,

I could swear mum is gaining some strength and put on a bit of weight . I am not saying she is enjoying two sets of eyes on her diet all the time but that’s family life for you .!
Hope you are all relaxing and making a good start to your weekend .
