After the colonoscopy which was done friday .7.01.22 i was informed by the nurse that there is a 3cm suspected malignant tumor in my rectum. I was so devastated and tears just flowed from my eyes. I was told that a tissue sample was taken and will be send for biopsy. Tuesday 11 december i had my mri pelvis. I am so worried and unable to sleep since friday . Is a 3cm malignant tumour bad? Or has it spread or is it aggressive?please do reply if anybody  here has had a 3cm tumor. Many thanks and regards to all. Godbless

  • Stress is killing me

  • Try and put what the nurse said to the back of your mind. The words she used are devastating but she did say suspected. Not definitely.

I know that easy for me to say

Give them a ring Monday hopefully they’ll know more

Once you know your treatment plan you’ll be able to focus on that and it will give you some positivity

  • Hi artsie, had tried to contact the nurse but not answering...i think the mdt team is busy all the time

  • Pelvis and abdomen mri done tuesday. Im still waiting for chest ct scan which i do not know rhay will arrange for appointment

  • it’s good you’ve had the Pelvis and abdomen sorted. Hopefully you’ll get other CT done. I didn’t get any results of any of my tests. When I met with the surgeon he didn’t mention results or sizes just what he was going to do about it.

It did seem to drag on and was so stressful.

I would keep trying the nurse. I expect they’re short staffed this Covids causing staff shortages. Ops are being cancelled, I went last week and was told they’d cancelled two because of staff sickness

  • Hopefully nhs wont leave us cancer sufferers in the hanging. I will pray for the safety and well being of the healthcare workers

  • No they won’t, your top priority I was told that. They will do their utmost to make sure they treat you asap. Now I’m free of it Im on the bottom of the list which I’m happy about. I want to plan some breaks.
    Take care x

  • Oh thanks for that.  My anxiety level is infinite. Thanks Ann for keeping me company.

  • Anytime. I’ve been through similar. It’s so hard to function.
The only way I managed was I learned to put it in a box at the back of my thoughts and leave it there. There’s nothing that I could do so by worrying it just made it worse. I meditated, listened to music or watched movies. Staying away from anything stressful as much as possible. I trusted my surgeon and went into the op actually happy to get rid of it.
Phone Monday and leave a message. They won’t mind and they may be able to tell you more
