Hello everyone.
i hope it’s okay to post in this group because, at this stage, I don’t have a definite diagnosis of bowel cancer. However, I’ve had a positive result to my bowel screening test and now have to go to the hospital on the 13th of this month (next Monday) for a colonoscopy and biopsy. I’m very scared because I’ve had symptoms for quite some time such as chronic constipation, some bleeding (but not a lot) and extreme tiredness which is very unusual for me. Stupidly, I didn’t seek advice earlier and now, am terribly worried and scared that I’m going to get a diagnosis of cancer. I hope you don’t mind me posting here as I do feel rather a fool. I will understand if I’m not allowed to get support here because I don’t have a definite diagnosis yet. Thank you very much, Jacqui x
The nurse told me this as well Artsie when I went for a colonoscopy that I had polyps but said it may have been diverticulitis and removed them she said if left they could have turned cancerous, so they were taken out while the colonoscopy was being performed. I was a little bit sick when I got home but I don't know if that was just nerves or the antistetic they give you wearing off. I've been fine since though but unfortunately now I'm having to go through it with Jay.
