I am currently recovering from colon cancer (right side hemicolectomy). I was given the all clear in December 2020. My mother died from colon cancer (right side) in June 2019. I am looking into whether Lynch Syndrome is in my mother's side of the family, more for my adult children than myself tbh. I am finding it difficult at times to believe I am cancer free, and fearful that, like my mother I will have a re-occurrence..... does anyone else feel like this?
Hi
Just want to welcome you to the forum . I hope your recovery is going well post surgery .
I am just going to pop your thread back up to the top so people with experience can pop on and support you .
I can totally understand your concern with your mother’s situation within such a short timeframe . One of our previous members is heavily involved with the Lynch association and has done some powerful advocacy work . She was diagnosed around the time her brother sadly died and I am sure her mum also had cancer . She is doing very well . I think she mainly stays over with the lynch side of things now as she has recovered for years now .
I am delighted to see immunotherapy coming through for people with lynch .
take care , Court
