Currently having chemotherapy for colon cancer that has spread to lymph nodes. I was told I could have yogurt but without any live cultures, everything I have look at says it's pasteurised but has live cultures added? Again I forget to ask at my appointments Any suggestions of brands that I can have please? Many thanks
I had forgotten all about the dangers of infection from foodstuffs so am not the best person to advise! I've regularly had Sainsbury's Greek Style with no problems but I noticed on one NHS site it just said to avoid yogurts marked Bio or Live. As manufacturers dont always do this the safest thing is probably to make sure the label includes the word "pasteurised" as the process kills virtually all bacteria.
Thank you for your reply, so nearly all the ones I have looked at say pasteurised but they also say live cultures. That's the confusing bit
