Good afternoon so this morning I attended my local hospital for a colonoscopy thinking everything was going to be fine only to discover that I had to wait for the doctor to come and talk to me which was a sign that I hadn’t expected she then confirmed that she had found a smallish polyp/tumour  which she decided not to remove as she felt it needed further investigations and that I have to have a CT and MRI scan now so I’m awaiting these and obviously somewhat concerned having thought that I was perfectly alright and as fit as a fiddle. It is nice to know that there are other people out there who are probably in the similar situation because at the moment I haven’t actually told anybody apart from my husband we have yet to talk to our children about this but I’m feeling that maybe I should wait for The final results before we go down that route they are all married with children of their own but at this stage I think it’s best just to hang on and wait for a final confirmation. What does everybody think

  • I've just been through this recently. I'd say to wait for the CT scan with contrast then you'll know more. The doctor decides if you'll need the MRI. I wouldn't talk to the children until you know for sure where you are.

  • Hi Waterview, it is always a hard time waiting, but usually things goes pretty fast with cancer. You have a good reason to be hopeful, when I had, like many, my colonoscopy, they told me then and there it was cancer. It they are saying they need to investigate further hopefully it been caught and the cancer will be at an early stage, try to keep positive, best wishes for a good outcome.

  • Thank you so much for you advice. I agree too.  I think it’s going to be like a jigsaw and they can take ages to complete. I wish you well too

  • Oh thank you for your advice. That’s encouraging.  I wish you well too.
