Hello,
We have just been told today that our 12 year old son has colon cancer. We are understandably devastated. We don't know the extent...or have a treatment plan yet... but are meeting with doctors tomorrow.
Another reason that this is particularly devastating is that I (his mum) was diagnosed with breast cancer in October and although I am well on the road to recovery, I am still undergoing treatment.
Life can be very cruel.
Would love to hear other people's experiences of how they have managed with children in a similar position.
Thank you x
Thats awful. Im not in that position but I can only wish you and your son well!
Sorry for delay. My message deleted itself.i wanted to cry when i read your post. How cruel you are grappling with your own health and now have this truly devadtating news about your precious son. You will get a fuller idea soon what the plan is. What symptoms did he have that alerted the bowel cancer? He will be very confused. It is hard enough for adults. A psychologist needs to talk to you all about how to handle this challengng situation. My adult daughter has been chronically ill for two decades and it is so devastating watching her suffer. I have bowel cancer by the way so i understand. Please write back when you have an idea whst the prognosis. Best wishes Belinda
